Star Wars Iconic Characters: Interlude...

Glancing back at Set and Valara, she asked, "So how did the training go?"

Valara meets Sia-Lan's eye before quickly looking away at the floor blushing, her face almost as red as the Jedi's hair. She shifts from foot to foot nervously before looking her friend in the face, her blush fading slightly.

"Not so well, I think I will need many such training sessions to truly learn. It is not as easy as I thought it would be."

"I think I will shower now, if someone will teach me to use the controls." she says with a sigh "I rather miss bathing in streams. At least those I knew how to use, that and I had Videl to wash my back."

Sia waved at her. "Don't worry about it! Its your first time and Set's first time teaching you how to wield his lightsaber. Mistakes are bound to happen, but you'll learn from them." Pointing toward the back, she glanced at Set, auburn brow raised. "Well since you're kinda smelly too, why don't you show her how to shower?"

That said, she leaned against the door, pulling out a little round object attached to a string. Letting it go, she watched as the round object drop, letting loose a roll of string. With a yank, she got the round object to roll upwards instead.

"Rory? Kel? Kaz? Anybody feel like taking a break and getting a bite to eat? I passed a bar on the way here, but it looks like the kind of place a girl shouldn't go to without a Wookiee, if you know what I mean."

"Sounds like my kind of place." Rorworr grins widely to Arani. "I'm in."

Deciding that his bowcaster isn't really appropriate dress for an evening out, Rory straps on a blaster pistol.

"And I don't need brushing, least of all by you." He adds, mock-seriously, to Sia. "The last time I let you, you pulled out half of my coat. I sware, I've still got bald patches..."

"I wouldn't get too excited, Kaz. If I know spacer bars, the food's only going to be a slight step up from our rations. And you can't help but wonder if they don't mix the drinks with rocket fuel."

An alarmed look comes over Set's face at the mention of the shower. "Ah.. It wasn't that big of a workout. I'm presentable enough for a spacebar. Probably still cleaner then most of the sentients on this station." His words back in familier territory Set resumes his customery haughty expression.

[OOC Sorry don't have time for a long post]

All of Sia's innuedo sailed harmlessly over the primitive force users head leaving her blissfully ignorant of what her friend had really been suggesting.

"I will go as well if you will give me time to bathe first, and someone shows me how to work the controls first of course." Valara says to the young noble woman.

she begins to move toward the 'fresher undoing her shirt clasps as she goes. I wonder why they all stare at me when I do this, surely they don't expect me to bathe fully clothed?

Sen Udo-Mal said:
"Ah I have never had a great deal of taste for such, but I am sure Sia would tell you if she asked. What is it that make is so appealing?" Sen will ask somewhat innocently.

Dorn shrugs slightly and says, "I haven't had a good meal since we crashed on that overgrown greenhouse of a planet. My taste buds are depressed. Leave it to Sia to find the only supply of tasty looking fruit for parsecs around."

"I am sure that had Master Yoda had any misgiving about you or any of us, he would have turned us away long ago. Trust in yourself and in the Force and you will be a great Jedi someday I am sure of it. I am sure she was only teasing, although at times I do not understand her humor as well as I might. Sia is on her way also to being a great master one day, but I think she just wants to pretend that it is no big deal. I worry about Set, but we each must follow our own path..."

Dorn grins at that, shaking his head as he says, "Sen, when I think about Sia being a master someday...well, I just start feeling a great swell of pity for her poor future padawans. Can you imagine her with a captive audience to tease?"

Sen watches Valara walking off, and shakes his head slightly. To Dorn he says "She must not give up so easily... she already has much strength in the Force, but I wonder if she might not be to old be being training as a Jedi..." his words trail off as Sen is lost in his own thoughts.

Dorn laughs at that, obvious amusement glinting in his eyes as he warmly places a hand on Sen's shoulder.

"Trust me on this one thing, Sen. Valara isn't the giving up type. I have a feeling she is going to get her training, too old or not."

Dorn chuckles again at the idea of Valara giving up just as Arani walks briskly past and into the ship. The young jedi watches her go, still smiling, and then turns back to Sen.

"Well, Sen, it looks like everybody thinks the ship is the place to be. I think I'm going to go check and see what's going on in there."

Dorn pauses for a moment, looking back toward the ship's hatch, absently scratching his chin as he ponders something.

"By the way, Sen...why do you think Arani avoids me all the time? I asked Rorworr once and he just laughed at me and said something Emtee refused to translate."

Dorn sighs and look back at his friend. "I don't know, what do you think? Am I offensive or something?"

Before Sen can respond, Sia appears in the ship's portal and calls Dorn's name, mischief dancing in her eyes...

"Huh, what was that Dorn..." Sen asks but when he looks around Dorn has already left. Sen looks around a bit, hears the singing within the ship, smiles slightly and goes back to thinking, standing alone outside the ship...

Sia-Lan Wezz said:
Resting her cheek against the edge of the portal, she grins at the other Jedi. "Why don't you make yourself useful, and take Arani out to dinner? We're all so busy right now and Arani looks half starved! She could use more food!"

She waved Kaz back with a mischievous cerulean wink. "All that shopping must be exhausting!"

Dorn blinks in surprise before following Sia back into the ship, wondering just what exactly brought on this particular suggestion from his mischievous friend.

"Well...yeah, if you think she'd be ok with it, I'll take her."

Dorn eyes Sia somewhat suspiciously as they rejoin the others. Seeing all the flushed faces, happy expressions, and obvious merriment in the air, Dorn wonders just what in the Force has been going on while he was outside with Sen. Before he can ask that very question, Arani speaks.

"Real food is the plan. I can't guarantee that it'll be good, but it should be real. And the company will be fantastic. Dorn, everyone, you're all welcome to come, of course. If you want to, that is - you don't really have to, but everybody's welcome. And I'm buying. If you want to come."

Dorn blinks again, realizing that maybe Sia isn't playing some kind of practical joke after all. He lifts his hand and smiles hopefully.

"Hey, count me in. I could definitely use some real food and good company."

Dorn smiles at Arani, but it is short-lived as Sia speaks up again.

"Oh, Dorn, Arani...go ahead to the bar. We'll meet up with you later. Set and Valara fairly reek and could use a good bath before being shown in public. Kelko, Ror and Kaz are all dirty from working on the ship, they could use some brushing."

Winking at Dorn, she continued blithely with all the innocence of a newborn babe. "I think there are plenty of things Dorn would like to ask you, Arani. Always good to be prepared, eh Dorn? Always good, yes yes..."

Digging into her satchel, she pulled out her ubiquious fruit. "Here you go, Arani." She tossed it to her friend. "Wave it in front of Dorn and he'll follow you anywhere."

Dorn looks at Sia with obvious irritation, and he points a finger at her, getting ready to say something about it when he is interrupted yet again, this time by Arani.

"Kel, Rory and Kaz are the guests of honor. They've been working hard on the ship, and I want to do something nice for them. Kaz has already said he wants to go; I'm not leaving without him."

Dorn seems somewhat relieved that Arani has apparantly ignored Sia's comments about him, and he quickly speaks up before Sia can make further mischief.

"Ok, so it's settled then. Off to dinner we go. I guess I can wait for my turn to be Arani's guest of honor." Dorn directs a smile Arani's way and continues, "So, where are we going anyway? I don't even know what's on this station."

"All right!"

Kaz's face had gone from excited at the prospect of food, to pitifully sad at the prospect of no food, and back again after Arani personally invites him, Kelko, and Rorworr. It's the mention of a shower which leaves him truly perplexed.

"Shoot, I just had one yesterday. And say, I kinda like the taste of rocket fuel. Why, one night some of my ole' school buddies and me did shots of straight AG-183 to see whose eyes would bleed first. I lost, but I tell you what, every woman I looked at for the next three weeks coulda been a princess!

"C'mon wookie, let's see if we can't start a good ole fashioned brawl."

Sia-Lan sighs and then smiles a Valara. "Alright, since Set seems to be confused on how to work the shower, I'll show you how the mechanisms work myself." As she passed by Set, she arched an auburn brown and shook her head. "All you had to do was show her how to work it. I wasn't suggesting you go scrub her back."

Laughing lightly, she led Valara to the stall and showed her the simplest way to get the water running. "Not as good as a waterfall, but it's good enough to get you clean," she explained, patting Valara on the back before heading off. "When you're done, come join us."
