Stargate SG-1 Season 10 *Discussion Thread* 8/4

That's not Stargate's style. They seemed pretty bummed about Bal getting the info so he definitely got something juicy.

As for the episode as a whole: not as good as last week but not a stinker either. That little blurb for the 200th episode looked...interesting.

I cant wait for the Startrek spoof part.

Lost the fight to keep my mouth shut:

Is it so hard to read the first post and note the correct spelling of Baal? And for the record, it is Ori. But they are new fiction, Baal has been a god for a very long time.

I couldn't help but wonder: After the Baals escaped, why didn't they temporarily drop their beam jamming signal and beam all the Baals into holding cells from orbit? Each of them did have a locator beacon, after all.

I did like how deviously clever the group of Baals was, though.

Cause he jumped out of system after like 15 seconds?

He means while they were still in the SGC.

Good question- maybe Odyssey wasn't in Earth orbit? Though that does bring up a good point: why does Earth have a platform or two in orbit for permanent defense?

I'll assume you ment doesnt and heres why.

The WORLD does not know jack about the Stargate Program and about aliens and all that jazz.

Civilians and your average world citizen doesnt know anything about aliens and space travel.

Russia, England, China, Canada, Isreal, Japan and a few other major nations have knowledge within their governments (Presidents, executive staff, and various trusted/assigned agents such as NID operatives).

Even the Trust hasnt revealed anything to the public.

Earth simply hasnt BUILT any defense platforms because they'd have no way to explain them to the world without revealing the truth (or making other nations supicious) and causing worldwide panic.

Yes, I meant doesn't. Since the Asgard were willing to give Earth engines, why not the cloaking device that hides their ships (as mentioned several times).

Sam made a huge mistake in protocol. She knew the govt would never let her life be traded for the information, but then she went and traded a few hostages life for it. It doesn't matter how clever she thought she was being about them not escaping, it should have been incredibly obvious that they had some kind of plan. Proper action would have been to let the hostages be killed.

We do know that she gave away the real info since she apologizes for giving it to them. No need for an apology if it was fake.

What if she is actually also under control of Baal or the Trust, just like agent Barrett? I mean, both reacted fairly "normal" the whole episode, and both make a stupid mistake helping Baal - they are willing to acknowledge their error, but they are incapable of seeing that they might have been influenced.
I am not certain that this is the explanation, but if it is, I was the first to notice! :)
