I also spent a lot of time wondering where they got all the flamethrower fuel. Is the still *THAT* productive? Or did someone bring aboard a couple of crate's worth at the beginning??

Who knows what they were using for fuel- there's all kinds of flammables out there in the universe, maybe they found something that ferments quickly.

Or perhaps they found a garden on Destiny that overproduces methane...by design or accident, who knows?

I agree all the way around. Waste of my time and not the time to be showing an episode this crappy. Who signs off on scripts like this? They should get fired.

At least the preview for next week looks like it should be better.

the most significant thing in this character building episode:

scott spends the whole time worrying if he's ready for committing to chloe.

Then, at the very end when he's ready to accept the her, she turns, and he sees a side of her that scares him, and he recoils.

40 some minutes to get to that moment.

As I said in the previous episode thread (why are we making new threads per episode for tv shows?), this show moves too slowly. Too little happens, by the end of the episode, very little has changed.

this series is weak. I want to like it, as I've been a loyal SG watcher, but the pacing just stinks.

Good lord you folks are brutal. I actually liked it. I like the character building stuff. I like the pace. I like that they are taking their time to explore the characters and not just fight aliens.

This episode was slower than most, but it was still heads better than a good episode of other shows I have watched.

Just wanted to throw in the dissenting opinion ;)

Aside from Matt now wondering if Chloe is "safe" I'm not sure there was any character building stuff. Anything happeing in the fantasy sequences has only immediate entertainment value, such as it is, and I'm searching my memory to think of things in non-fantasy sequences that would qualify as longterm value to the plotlines, characters, etc.

As far as the show is concerned, the Seed Ship episode had the right combination of characte building and plotline advancement that I am hoping most epsiodes contain. A lesson could be learned from shows like BSG for how to make most episodes impact both on character and plot. Rarely a dull moment with BSG.
