Bought & thumbed-through. Now for a thorough read.

On first impessions it'll be immediately useful in my campaign. I gleaned at least a dozen good ideasjust from that. Of course, the PCs are heading now to a sunken wreck near a pirate base, so go figure.

I plan on picking it up today, if my gaming store has it. Fortunately, today is game day, so even if they don't it won't be a wasted trip.

If it ever makes it to North Carolina, I'll buy it. ;)

Grrr!! It turns out that my FLGS said that it wasn't due here til next Wednesday, but a new game store in town has it already. Time to give "Your Move Games & More" a try.

Like most recent WotC publications, I have no interest in this volume.

I'm much more interested in books like Iron Heroes and other "third party" works.

I looked through a copy of Frostburn, and wasn't all that impressed. Despite the fact I enjoy nautical-themed campaigns, I'll homebrew my own stuff as needed.

Eek.

Is that really what it's like? Have you seen it? I haven't - that's why I'm asking.

I hope not, is all. :\
Assuming it's like the other environmental books, it'll have all of the above; feats, spells, PrC's, hazards, rules for underwater combat, locations, adventure sites, and monsters (of course).

EDIT: Forgot to answer the question... Yes, I will get it. I've liked the environmental books (with some reservations), and Stormwrack looks the most readily usable to me since sea travel seems to come up no matter what I do.

I picked it up yesterday and - after reading Sadstorm and frostburn - am only slightly disappointed.

It has lots of stuff in it that I liked - the Legendary Captain and Scarlet Corsair PrCs, a few new feats that were especially cool, some nice spells, a cool domain and a small number of cool magical items, and a handful of interesting monsters. There's also epic and psionic support here, though I am sad to say that there is no vile or exalted support. Two out of the four ELs in the back were cool as well. The writing is the usual fare and the art is just dandy.

It also had a few things in it I could have done without, one of which was the long explanations of ships. Yeah, I know it's a book about the sea, but I felt this information could havebeen trimmed down to give more room for cooler stuff. I also felt that some of the monsters were just weak, badly designed or just badly concieved. Some of them had cool names, but just didn't do it for me. I felt that the new races were particularly weak, uninteresting and just kind of crappy all around.

Still, I bought it and I'm not sad that I did. It could have been better but it was still pretty cool.
