Eek. Is that really what it's like? Have you seen it? I haven't - that's why I'm asking. I hope not, is all. :\

No, just that's blather. Take it with a grain of salt.

Might get the book, might not. I think water-based adventures are kind of boring. Maybe the book can change my mind.

The only trouble will be finding the money for it. Due to various supply problems, it looks like the DMG2, Five Nations, Weapons of Legacy, Stormwrack, the Explorer's Handbook and the Deluxe Eberron PC sheets will all end up arriving together... and clamouring for my money.

As someone who has bought every non-setting-specific 3.5 WotC book, I would strongly advise against keeping WoL on your 'to buy' list. It was the first 3.5 book I've felt was a complete waste of money. I disliked it so much that I immediately removed 'Magic of Incarnum' from my 'to buy' list by association; the recent preview of that book has me thinking it might be worth a look after all.

Although they part of the same series, the two books are kinda polar opposites when you think about it.

Nice to see you disregarding other peoples' honest opinion as "blather" without giving them any further thought. Wow ....

It's my opinion based on:

- my impression of Frostburn and Sandstorm (I admit to bias) and
- my quick (~10 to 15 minutes) flipping through the pages of Stormwrack in my FLGS.

The only thing I really liked, the Legendary Captain PrC, is up on the WotC page for free; the rest of the book just doesn't follow through on its premise. I'm looking for ideas as how to creatively run sea-themed encounters, not a monster / spell theme park. While the sea battles / hazards thing is okay, I just don't think it is enough (read: pages used compared to pages total) to warrant me spending money on this. While not a bad product, it just doesn't fit my bill.

Needless to say, anyone wanting to try an aventi, aquatic elf, neried, or shoal halfling PC need only click on the link in my signature below. ;) More info about undersea D&D HERE

Already have it. :)

Does this mean that we are likely to see a review of it, at some point in the future? :)

Looking forward to it, if so. And not just from Psion, but in general. This is my first project for WotC, and I'm pretty nervous about it. Thanks to everyone who's said they like the material thus far; thanks also to folks who've said its not their cup of tea.
