Edited the sheet again and replaced Power Attack with Improved Toughness for the time being. At lvl 2, I think I will have him start the Power Attack path.

I picked the sickle to try something different, but as PA would be wasted with him having that as his "focus" weapon, I am going a different route. I changed his weapon to the flail for the time being, but not sure if that will be his main weapon all of his career.

Also, I can't remember the source book, but somewhere out there, there is a feat that lets you use your str modifier for your ranged attack with thrown weapons. Does that sound like something you would allow? I will go through my books later on and try to find it and give you the exact name.

Mithran: If you want, I can work on a joint history with you. Perhaps you could the person that helps Dengar through the awkward social aspects of his life, namely everything, and he could be there to carry all your heavy items and be a second set of eyes when you collect your spell components.

Character should be posted today. I had originally done a dex-based fighter, but I'll massage it into a rogue (not that different at first level).

I don't know anything about the realms, so the background will be a bit generic, but I'll try to come up with something interesting. If it's OK with you, he'll be from some poorly-defined distant kingdom so that the character and I can be ignorant together. :)

I was thinking that perhaps Heirmund could have apprenticed with Dengar's grandfather and would have been around when he was born. His apprenticeship ended when when Dengar was about five and Heirmund left to return home shortly before the death of his teacher.

Years later, fourteen maybe, Heirmund could not control the wonderlust any longer and struck back out with the reluctant blessings of his parents. Travelling first to visit his mentor, Heirmund saw the graves behind the cottage that marked his final resting place. Inquiring with the priests of Ilmater, Heirmund was told that last they heard Dengar was still serving with the Mistledale militia and since it seemed as good as place as any at the moment, he travelled there.

Spotting Dengar quickly, as he stood out among the folk of the Dale quite a bit, Heirmund reintroduced himself and the two spoke of Dengar's family well into the night.

What do you think? To corny? It would also allow for a certain monk of Ilmater a chance to be travelling along the road as well..

So Heirmund has a raven, Is Lehko not going to take a familiar?

I'm thinking I'll probably take a riding dog (a border collie or wolfhound should do fine) as my animal companion so he is a bit of muscle as well as have scent and tracking. I was thinking of owl or cat for inconspicuous scouting but we have the raven already.

Huh? Who... me? :D

My guess is that Ydyr could be there in Mistledale trying to get his bearings and find directions to the next temple of Illmater where he can continue his studies. As the quiet, almost bashful sort, drinking a draught and listening to two old friends would certainly be a fine way (in his mind) to pass the night. He would be shy and loathe to tell his own story, but would try and be a good listener for those who are tale-tellers.

Ok, I know I'm not in at this time, but I'm finishing up my character anyway just in case. I have a lame question, since I don't have my books with me. What's the starting wealth for a rogue? I'm starting to think I won't be able to start with both tools and armor, which would be a drag... :)
