super quick question about money

My DM just told us to make a lvl 2 char and I don't have my books with me (at work) so I need help:

how much gold does a lvl 2 PC start with?

while I am here, might as well as the other question too:

I am playing a monk and in the pHB, it says that all part fo his body is a weapon. So if I have a bow drawn, do I still get to make melee attacks (like a kik or a headbunt) or do i have to drop the bow?

900 gp; yes (though some DMs place restrictions or circumstance penalties).

According to DMG page 145, you should have 900gp worth of equipment as a 2nd level character.

And, you don't have to drop the bow to make unarmed strikes as a monk.
