(OOC: Ah, I see. I thought it might be fishy that Laynie woke up and then started going back down. Wasn't sure, though)

OOC: It surprised me, but Laynie have done so many surprising thing for the young girl she is (oh yeah, she is no more so young) and there is so many crazy thing that has happen in that tower that somethimes, I stop to ask myself question...

Ashnar body falls on the ground.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Ashnar body is somewhere in the stairs. Rinaldo have decided to not get slowed by it... honestly, with Eve in Laynie's body, Ashnar dead, Sin free, he want to destory the Crux and hope that nothing evil in this tower will get out of it... and that to the risk to not get out of it himself.[/SBLOCK]

Hogarth do another move backward, keeping an eye on Eve, Pride and Sin. If Sin or Pride try to cast, he will cast his spiritual weapon.

(OOC: Sin is farther to the side and barely on the edge of his vision, so Hogarth can't move if he wants to still see her--of course, if she moves closer, that might change things. For now, I'll have him stay where he is)

*Hogarth prepares a spiritual weapon.*

*Gluttony readies an action.*

"Well, then. I think I shall finish our wanton swordsman for you then--that way you can catch all three of the others in the Meteor Swarm...well, maybe not the speeding wallclimber."

*Pride begins to cast a spell, so Hogarth starts casting Spiritual Weapon, but as the weapon begins to soar forth, Gluttony shoots forth her azure magical vacuum and absorbs it. This allows Pride to launch two Scorching Rays, with both arc forth and burn Vanitri badly.*

(OOC: Vanitri takes 26--he's at 2!)

*Sin closes her eyes briefly and touches her finger to her forehead.*

"Yes, Pride, he is indeed out of range. But that won't be a problem for long."

(OOC: Tenny's turn again, since her readied action did not trigger, then Vanitri, then Rinaldo)

Tenny realizes that Rinaldo has the right idea, she flies up as fast as she possibly can. She does not want to leave the other two behind, but she has little to offer at the moment.

Vanitri flees for his life, "I'll be back for you Laynie."

Heading for the stairs as fast as possable.

OCC: and a little late, but my first clue that Laynie was possessed was when she cast the finger. Beyond that, nothing realy seemed out of place, as I never saw her mentioned as doing anything.

*Tenny flies quickly, flitting through the air and outdistancing Rinaldo. Vanitri sprints as well, reaching the point where the curve of the stairs prevents any further straight forward movement.*

(OOC: Rinaldo's turn)

Rinaldo continue to run, his dagger in hand, wathever is happening, one thing was sure in his mind, the Crux must be destroyed before Sin stop the group, she must not escape that cursed tower.

*Rinaldo runs even more along the wall, passing Tenny again.*

*Meanwhile, Sin shakes her head.*

"I don't know what their hurry is. It isn't like they could destroy the Crux before I make it up there. The Crux is not likely to go down that easily...and besides, I can just Dimension Door up to the top once I have Elpis...Mmm, after all that work on my look, it's a good thing I'll get to keep it if I merge with her, unlike you Eve. Now will you get out for me please, honey?"

"At once, mistress!" Eve slowly pours out of Laynie in an aura of darkness, coalescing adjacent to the girl, who drops to the ground, unconscious.

"Excellent. And with Elpis's body, I can even leave this tower after I kill those insects above. Oh, how grand!"

"I had...wanted to do this later, so I can explain myself, but..." a voice speaks quietly from just around Laynie, Senex's voice, fading away as it speaks.

*Laynie's body begins to shimmer slightly.*

"You?! What are you doing?! I thought you said you were on our side?"

"Not quite. I just wanted to control the scenario so I could be sure of what all the actors would do--your arrival would have been an unknown until I leaked that information. As my essence fades with this final spell I weaved for Elpis, I laugh at you from oblivion...all of you will join me shortly..."

*And Laynie vanishes, Teleported away somewhere else.*

"..."

"Wh...? No!!!! No no no no no no no! Damn that man! Eve, you incompetent churl! Why would you trust Senex? Aaaaaaaaaaaaargggghh! No matter...no matter. There's only one choice left--we have to kill that last one we can see, the fellow with the swords, and then I'll trap his soul. If they ever want him to be free to return to life or the afterlife instead of being eternally tormented by me, or having his soul lost in Nullspace if they destroy the Crux, THEY WILL BRING ME MY THRONE! Pride? Can you finish him off?"

"I can guarantee his unconsciousness, if not his death."

"Gluttony, if she doesn't get him, you have to do it. I will trap the soul."

*Pride and Gluttony nod.*

(OOC: Hogarth's turn next! He'll have to do something super awesome, because Pride and Gluttony plan on a barrage of Magic Missiles that will be guaranteed to kill Vanitri, followed by Sin trapping his soul in a gem ;))

OOC: Vanitri is how many feet from out of sight (I don't tell safety, because there is no way to get to safety from a possible meteor swarm) I think to Hogarth to Bull Rush Vanitri to safety if possible, using his Feat of Strength to help. Damn Tenny's Dispel, Hogarth could had survived the Meteor Swarm with his Protection from Fire spell...

(OOC: The trouble is that Hogarth is farther up than Vanitri, so he is in the opposite direction from where he needs to be to Bullrush. Vanitri is admittedly only about thirty feet from being totally safe, even if Pride or Gluttony moves right up to the edge to fire. Another thought is moving down next to Vanitri and healing, if he has a spell left to do that. It won't survive a Meteor Swarm, but if Vanitri survives the two weaker attacks of Pride and Gluttony, he won't have his soul trapped. Also, based on my knowledge of the NPCs, Vanitri has a decent chance to survive if Hogarth comes down like that into range (With Vanitri healed and Hogarth also in range, Sin might have them go AoE. If the AoE then kills Hogarth and Vanitri evades, she might Soul Trap Hogarth instead of Meteor Swarming to finish Vanitri--Sin isn't picky, she just wants a ransom) )
