I get that + threads are important to have, but things have gotten out of control.
Well clearly the solution is to start a thread about '90s Alt Rock bands and then by page 8 you'll have a discussion about dice mechanics.Eh, I dunno. Look, I think I've started two "+" threads in my life.
One was the Pride Month thread, which had a history inclusive gaming in RPGs in celebration of LGBTQI+ month (that was the official acronym at the time). I think that there were pretty obvious reasons to make that a "+" thread.
The other was the one I just started (on dice mechanics), and will be part of a continuing series. And the only reason I am doing that is because of a long history of being unable to have certain conversations.
Overall, I am okay with that! If I start a topic about pizza toppings, I fully expect that by page eight people will be discussing the relative merits of 90s alt-rock bands. But at some point, I would enjoy having certain conversations, and I have run out of methods of self-help on this (such as trying to discuss the issue with them, not discussing the issue with them, trying to change the topic, pointing out that I have been unable to have this topic, and using the actual ignore function).
Anyway, the first thread was very dry, but it worked! So I will post a second at some point.
Thats cool, however Im seeing stuff thats not looking good. A "roses are red no talking about violets being blue" thread is going. So, somebody started a violets are blue thread and are wholesale block quoting folks from roses are red thread so they can get around the +. I suppose its inevitable.Eh, I dunno. Look, I think I've started two "+" threads in my life.

You're going by the booklets? You plebe! We use the Dalluhn manuscript at this table, or it would be a pale sham imitation of a real game, i.e. house rules! We are Gygaxian Originalists here, thank you. If it wasn't in the OD&D booklets, it's house rules.
