Time Stop

James McMurray

First Post
How exactly does the timing on Time Stop work? For example, say I cast Time Stop, and then begin dropping delayed blast fireballs set to go off in one round. Do the fireballs go off the moment the Time Stop effect ends, or do they go off just before my initiave the following round?

Thanks

the spell's duration begin as soon as the time stop ends. So if you had delayed blast fireballs set with a one round delay would go off after your turn the next round

Time Stop says "The spell's duration do not begin until the time stop is over."

Thus the delayed fireballs would go off one round after the Time Stop ended.

If you're casting this spell, be sure to wait till your next initiative before taking your 1d4+1 rounds of actions or the opponents that you're supposed to be moving faster than will most definately not be in the same positions 1 round after you cast time stop.

Edit: I hope that made sense.

Time stop specifically says spells can be left to come in effect when the time stop spell is over, that means it comes into effect on the same turn you casted the time stop.

Other spell that are currently in effect should be treated as suspended for the duration of time stop and should not caunt against their duration.
So if you have 1 round of shield left and you cast time stop geting let's say 4 rounds your shield spell would not end while time stop is on but 1 round after time stop ends same is with haste that's why when you get 4 rounds from time stopp you can't cast 8 spells thanx to haste spell, nor spell matrix or any other spell that you might have on you.

Hehe... thanks Aggemam. The fact that you were able to point out a flaw in my thinking at least lets me know that I was making some sense. :D But that point leaves another question (which I seem to have too many of): if you cast Time Stop before taking your move equivalent action, then after taking 1D4+1 'apparent' rounds of activities you should still be able to make your move action afterwards and you can still take a partial hasted action afterward as well?
