Warpriest requirements question

In Complete Divine, the Warpriest PrC has a requirement regarding being able to cast a spell from a particular domain. My question is, does that mean you MUST have that domain, or does the ability to cast the spell anyway qualify you?

To be explicit: If I'm a cleric with the Healing and Sun domain, but I can cast Bull's Strength, does that meet the requirement?

Or, in my case, how the hell do I qualify for Warpriest if I'm a Favored Soul?

Hmm..

Seems to me that you'd have to have one of the domains. Its written in a way that you could easily take it one way or the other but since the list is pretty war-like I'd assume they'd mean for you to actually possess a domain from the list.

As for Favored Soul, since they don't have the domain option really and they don't get the turn undead ability, they'd be a pretty poor choice for the warpriest PrC.

If you are playing in Forgotten Realms, there is a PrC that gives a domain, so that might help you qualify for the other PrC. Unfortunately, I really cannot remember off-hand what it is, or what level gives the domain!

You need the domain, not just the ability to cast spells on the domain list.
I disagree. I don't have the book in front of me, but as I recall reading it you just need to be able to cast the spell. Anyone with the book in front of them able to quote it?

Sure:

"Spells: Able to cast at least one divine spell from one of the following domains' spell lists: Destruction, Protection, Strength, or War. A character who can cast at least one spell from a domain counts as having access for this purpose."

Thanks Calypso15.

Note it says cast at least one divine spell from one of the spell lists. All clerics will meet this requirement as some of those spells are on the generic 1st level cleric list. But not all other divine casters, such as favored soul, would always qualify.

That's how I'd read it.
