"That's bait." Seriously, we've been in a golden age of OSR/NSR/just games for a while now. OSR ain't dead and hopefully it continues to evolve.
System Mastery is my go-to favourite. Just uh, warning, they're not the biggest fans of D&D. But if you like to hear about obscure TTRPGs, they can't be beatOk, now that the scolding portion of this thread is done, I would to love to hear what D&D and TTRPG vid/podcasts are worthy of a listen. I have my short list (see previous post), what is yours. I am always looking for the signal in a world of noise.
I respect your opinion but, let's be brutally honest here: Does anyone actually remember the draconic pantheon except for Tiamat, Bahamut, and maybe Sardior?Personally, I absolutely despise WotC's retcons to the draconic pantheon. TSR built a draconic pantheon that was powerful and epic, but WotC treated it as trash.
Subsciption tab is great for watching stuff from channels you already like, but not so great for discovery of new channels. Unfortunately, algo is one that pushes or ignores videos, which is one of the main ways of discovering new channels and content. Not enough YouTube viewers hang out on their Subscriptions tab, instead allowing the algorithm to feed them.
Not so small number of people watch Yt on their smart tv trough tv's native app and navigate using remote control. Do not recommend channel option isn't available on tv.Not enough YouTube viewers do the Do Not Recommend Channel action, or don’t know how, on the channels that act outside the bounds.
- Too much AI? Too much rage-bait? Too much culture war? Do Not Recommend is available!
So are you saying a channel can't be a D&D channel unless it's crunch-focused? I'm confused. No, it's D&D, but she uses d&d as placeholder example and starter for broader rpg themes. At least from what i watched, her stuff is mostly about soft skills, role play, storytelling. Most of her stuff is useful across ttrpg space. As far as i know, she never did deep dives into mechanics, classes, combos, not did she dive into reviews/news heavily.
Pointy Hat has always struck me as fairly clickbaity. All his video titles are negative: "The problem with X" or "X SUCKS."Pointy Hat too, even if he does get things wrong more often than some others.
I don't think anyone's mentioned Seth Skorkowsky yet. He doesn't talk about D&D much, but his breakdowns of adventures, showing their weak points and how he compensated for them, are great. He also has GM/player advice and some hilarious "war stories" (the Scott Brown Incident is a classic).Ok, now that the scolding portion of this thread is done, I would to love to hear what D&D and TTRPG vid/podcasts are worthy of a listen.
My personal issue with the Pointy Hat videos is the length and the pacing. For me, it’s just a full on blitz of the senses over a long runtime.Pointy Hat has always struck me as fairly clickbaity. All his video titles are negative: "The problem with X" or "X SUCKS."
I confess this is me a lot of the time! I love discovering new creators.Subsciption tab is great for watching stuff from channels you already like, but not so great for discovery of new channels. Unfortunately, algo is one that pushes or ignores videos, which is one of the main ways of discovering new channels and content.
I hate that Shorts don’t let me Do Not Recommend! Not so small number of people watch Yt on their smart tv trough tv's native app and navigate using remote control. Do not recommend channel option isn't available on tv.
Usually if you block the channel, you stop getting their shorts as well (if that’s what you’re aiming for.)I hate that Shorts don’t let me Do Not Recommend!
