D&D 5E What are people hoping for in Monk UA?

The monks I am already working on for my world.

A Tai-Chi style battlemaster monk, focused on battlefield control.

A blind monk, with increased vision capabilities, and stronger focus on Ki. Third eye/Daredevil style monk.

Strength-based monk is sorely needed.

Drunken master is always fun.

And now that you guys mention it, a blind-fighter would be totally cool, too.

I think an archer monk would be nice or drunken master one. I wonder if they would actually give us a psionic type of monk aka a monk that uses ki to fuel psionic abilities (way of the mind).

Shadow monk already feels like a Ninja for me; what else would you need, some sneak attack?

Book of Nine Swords type stuff would be sweet. I third (fourth) an Animal style monk (modular abilities like the Totem Barbarian). A weapon using monk would be cool.

I'd also like to see a Strength monk, but the only problem would be that you'd be poorly optimized at levels 1 and 2 unless you start with like a 14 Str and Dex. Perhaps a simple statement that you can use Str with martial arts.

A rework of the way of the four elements monk in the same way that the UA ranger took the beastmaster subclass and updated it, I feel that after the PH beastmaster the way of the 4 elements monk is the most underpowered subclass in the game. Thats really the only thing I want, anything else is just a nice bonus, as I feel that they have already covered a nice variety of archetypes with the monk class.

Can't monks already use Strength? AFAIR Martial Arts simply gives the option of using Dex to hit and damage, but you can still default to Strength. (Apart from maybe the dart?)

The issue Str-based Monks have is MAD, since disconnecting Str from all of their attacks and getting flat bonuses to jumping really just leaves grappling and shoving as the only things a monk might want to do/resist that are based on Str. Meanwhile Dex drives most of their important capabilities.

As you say, we already have the ninja covered. A monk that can use martial weapons with Ki seems to be requested a lot. A zen archer type seems to be another, but a Ranger, Arcane archer, or Sharpshooter with a Monk splash would seem to cover that concept pretty well.
An animal-themed monk also seems to be something people want, but I can see that being more like a revamp of the Elements monk but with Druidic-type abilities and spells rather than the wizard type elemental effects.

A revamped Ki system for the Elements monk also seems to be wanted.

Don't joke about Sumo monks... Dwarves seem to be well-suited for a style that focuses on throws, grapples and push/pulls... We already have the Open hand for that, I guess.

Some non-Asian animal styles would be neat. :)

There is an excellent crowd-sourced Wo4E on Reddit that I'd suggest for an official WotC Stamp of Approval™.

I would like to see a monk archer, a slight rework of the elemental monk (even though i do like it already but could use more options) and a strength/armor monk I think
