D&D 5E What are people hoping for in Monk UA?

I think lowkey hits a good point. What really is there left that falls under the monk umbrella? We have Avatar monks, ninjas, kung fu fighters, long death death cultist monk, and pew pew laser monks.

Pretty much all the suggestions are just tweaks to one of the existing subclasses already. So maybe not a subclass, but a list of additional powers for the Avatar monk. Maybe s weapon monk that gets access to fighting styles and weapons that count as monk weapons, but I'd treat that as more of a feat than a full subclass. for example:

Monk Weapon Master feat: instead of the stat bonus, the additional weapons you are proficient in are now considered monk weapons.

Nature (Druid) casting or Shamanic Monk, Priest (Divine casting) monk

I would be fine with a swordman/weapon master Monk and drunken master.

You can lump me in with those people that don't enjoy monks. I also don't want to crush other's hype or dreams, and these two concepts could probably expanded upon the best. In my option of course.

*cough* Death to Monks *cough* :p

I would maybe even try that sub-class. Need to raise that hope first though. It is after all be best spice for despair. MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *wrings hands maniacally*

Ranged weapon monk, melee weapon monk, and an unarmed brawler type (pugilist, drunken master, etc.) seem like pretty solid choices. I think the main thing I'd want is a retry of four elements (as many have suggested).
The next thing I'd want is just a straight-up renaming of the class. I say monk to my players meaning on of the religious type and they all assume martial artist. I realize this wouldn't happen, but one can wish.
