Nikosandros
Golden Procrastinator
Human, dwarf and tabaxi.
That free feat is so juicy!!Sometimes I play humans, and other times I play humans. But then again, I also play humans - depending on the campaign of course.
I used to be an elf person, and then I played dwarves for a while - I loved my dwarf wizard with a big sword. One of my favorite characters I ever played was a highly evangelistic goblin sun-worshipper.
But for the last decade or so I've just been into humans.
The 5e Tiefling feels really milquetoast compared to the 4e one... and it doesn't feel like there's much to them beyond the PHB write up either. I don't get the feeling 5e 'cares' about the Tiefling or Dragonborn the same way 4e did, where their ancestors were part of two major empires that impacted the world and they had tons of support. They don't really feel like they matter anymore.Yeah, I expected more Tiefling, but I always though genasi were a niche choice. I think they are conceptually cool, and never got the attention the other 2 planar options got.
Yeah. But it is interesting that the traditional fantasy races of PHB are doing pretty well. Even the gnomes!Warforged and Changelings are beating out some PHB races like Dragonborn, Half-Orcs, and Tieflings.
I LOVE IT! That's the perfect response a grizzled Ranger would say if suddenly they found themselves having to work with one of their favored-enemies.Never mind how easy it becomes to hit the situation that led to this quote from a Ranger of mine in 3e when some bozo brought in a Half-Ogre (i.e. something in his favoured-enemy group):
"I've spent half my adult life training up on how to kill these things and now I'm expected to adventure with one?!"
We can always toss the Kender.Elf, Dwarf, Half-Elf, Human. Like it traditional.
If we include Dragonlance races, toss in Kender.
