What Happened to Devils? And my Bloodwar?

Well this is what happens when you kinda sorta ignore it, dabble only minimally and basically dont say anything....until now. AND! You suddenly realize "wait....if there's no lawful evil then...." .

Thats basically what happened this morning.

Heh, no sweat. I just wanted to make a joke really.

Re: Paladins, I think you'd prefer the Essentials version to the PHB one. In 4e Essentials, Paladins don't represent a God but a Virtue. There are two presented in the core Essentials line - Sacrifice and Valour. Paladins of Sacrifice are always LG and are the classic Galahad type. Paladins of Valour are just non-evil but can be neutral and their virtue isn't about helping someone else - they just have to exemplify valour. The rules and class features for each are slightly different although both are defenders. (Whereas Paladins exemplify a virtue, Blackguards exemplify a vice - existing Blackguards are Wrath and Tyrrany).

Re: Law vs Chaos, Chaos as you describe it isn't that chaotic. It reads as more Existing Powers vs Interlopers.

Also you're being nice to the Chaos God of Chain-axe wielding beserkers in a modern battlefield. And I know the Ruinous Powers are called the Chaos Gods - but in 40k I consider that a reaction to the excessive Lawfulnes of the fascistic Imperium. Father Nurgle, for instance, is basically the God fo the Copybook Headings. Arguably more lawful than even the Imperium. And Tzeentch is the God of Chaos in the mathematical sense - highly ordered and running on rules but indistinguishable from randomness unless you know exactly what you are looking at. (Slaneesh, the Lord of Excess is, I will grant, almost completely chaotic so far as I can tell).
