What makes a D&D site useful?

I am always on the lookout for feedback and ways to improve my site, so that prompts this question. Now I am not talking specifically about my site, but in general, what features and content make a d20 site useful to you?

free stuff.

and plenty of it.

i love to rip other sites off for their free ideas, adventures, classes, etc...

btw i love farland for this. ;)

Thanks Diaglo. I don't consider it "ripping off," though, since at least in my case it is their for your use in your game.

Piratecat: Don't worry, there won't be any shotgun weddings unless you get the Mass Combat Program "in trouble." :p

But now I am trying to think of some other things that you and others might love as much. Any more ideas anyone?

I think that, in general, a site has to have a unique niche for me to look at it more than once. There are hundreds of sites out there which already do the same things as each other (including EN World, I might add).

Something which covers a particular aspect of D&D better than all the others is the important thing, I think. The main example which comes to mind is Scott Greene's Creature Catalog - it deals exclusively with new and converted monsters, and it does that very, very well.

Morris nailed it right there. There has to be a niche of some kind to draw me back, as there are a lot out there that have the same thing, like campaign material, character sheets and the like. If it's just for your group, great; but to appeal to the masses you need more. Become the place where people go for a new spell a day, or a critter a week, or adventures that have a unique feel to them. As was said before, give me something from it, because we are all greedy pigs, oink.
