What side is your zip?

Plane Sailing

Astral Admin - Mwahahaha!
If you have a cardigan or zipped fleece, when it is undone - which side is the zip part of the zip on?

In the UK clothing for males has the zipper unit on the left, and clothing for females has the zipper unit on the right.

I recently bought an item of clothing from the US and found it had the zipper on the right, which felt really strange, and took me a little while to get used to.

So, in the interests of science - does your country have gender-specific zips? And if so, which side is it for men and which for women?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Cheers

I think we have it the same way in Finland. Left for men and right for women. The buttons are opposite though. If a jacket has buttons, the buttons themselves are on the right for men, and on the left for women...

Checking my own and my wife's jackets - yes, they are gender specific. Men's on the right, women's on the left.

Same for shirt buttons - a men's shirt has the buttons on the right, women's on the left.
