Why 18, why not 14 or 12?
Classics,
also it gives more room for feats/secondary abilities if people are not forced to go to 20 in their primary ASAP, as it is mathematically best option.
Or even better, no ability score and mod. Instead, a d20 test would only use proficiency where it can be None, 1/2, Full, or Expertise.
agree, had a similar idea:

Dark Vision Variant: 3e Night Vision and Dark Vision
too granular for little use.
Just dont forget to force penalties for using darkvision
Proficiency Variant: Skill Points
yes. Just combine number of skills and bonuses and divide them as you like, with normal maximum as usual.

Combat Variant: Touch AC and Flat-Footed
Please no.

we really do not need 4 different ACs on character sheet.
Combat Variant: Armor as DR
I would rather work more on Heavy armor master feat to make it work for all armors, maybe little better for medium/heavy armor/shields.
Combat Variant: Wound/Vitality
as option, sure.
Combat Variant: Glancing Blow
If you miss by 5 or less, deal half damage maybe?

Leveling variant: Slower Progression
that is group preference, no need for official rule.
who gives XP after fights anymore anyway?

Inspiration Variants
There is much potential in this mechanics, not just simple advantage roll.
