What was the name of the feat that...?

Does anyone remember the name of the feat that allows multi-classes spellcasters the ability to cast spells equal to the total of all their classes (i.e., a cleric4/wizard5 would cast a fireball at 9th level of effectiveness instead of 5th level). I think the feat was found in Complete Divine and, later, in Complete Mage.

Thanks!

Practiced spellcaster.

Yep, that's it, however, it is only +4 to your caster level for one of the two classes, with the caveat that the +4 cannot exceed your HD.

Other important note about this is that it also increases your level for punching through spell resistance-- and is by far the best feat for doing that, assuming you are multiclassed.

Taking the feat twice and going with mystic theurge is a nasty character. Fun to play or throw at a party though. Clr 5/Wiz 5/Mys x.

I'd prefer either wiz3/clr7/MT10 or wiz7/clr3... for 9th spells.

How about Archivist 3/Specialist Wizard 3/Master Specialist 4/Mystic Theurge 10?

The Archivist spells can offset the schools prohibited by specialization, and both the divine and arcane spells will be Intelligence-based. The Archivist and Master Specialist abilities make up a bit for the blandness of MT. The specialist wizard variant abilities in UA might likewise add both flavor and a little extra punch.

Yep, unless you are on the fast track with Wiz/Ur-Priest/MT, Archivist is the way to go.

Thanks,
Rich
