[The PCs were exploring a demon's fane during our last session, and when I first used the word, one of the players asked "What's a fane, and what does a demon do with it?" I told him, but this song has sort of been kicking around in my head ever since. FWIW 
Dorothy, a young adventurer is startled as a wretched looking, heavily wounded, and rather small fiend teleports into the chamber. It is talking to itself.
"I try to defeat them, but they just come at me without a second thought. Adventurers come from miles around just to loot the dungeon and laugh in my face. [Turns to Dorothy] ROAR! [She giggles] You see, I can't even make a single adventurer fear me. Oh, I'm a failure, because I haven't got a fane."
Dorothy [puzzled]: Well, what would you do with a fane if you had one?
Fiend:
Do? Why if I had a fane I could...
[sings] Tune
I could while away the hours
Reveling in my powers,
Inflicting lots of pain.
And the plans I would be hatchin’
Would be evil beyond matchin’
If I only had a fane.
I would open lots of portals,
And go corrupting all the mortals
On the Prime Mater’yal Plane

With the deeds that you’d be doin’
You’d make kingdoms fall to ruin
If you only had a fane.
Oh, I would love to scry,
Upon those cursed heroes, four.
I’d send my minions out to drive them to death’s door.
Then I’d gloat…and gloat some more.
I’d possess a famous abbess,
Maybe rule a layer of Abyss,
Drive some paladins insane.
I’d make all advent’rers wary,
I’d be really, really scary
If I only had a fane.

[dispatches the fiend with a single stroke]
