Okay so every man and his awakened dog has a +1 Sword of Buttkicking

but where are the flaming burst shuriken, the Hammers' of Thor or the Assasins Kukri?

What cool unique/unusual weapon enchantments have you created for the game??

Quicksilver: Lesser artifact that was +3 and could take the shape of any weapon type or shield as a free action. Mentally controlled magical mercury.

For issue 4 of the ENWorld Player's Journal, an article was submitted by Peter Troia that basically provided the rules for a weapon I'd had in my game for the longest time. The ghostbrand sword steals the souls of its victims, and uses them for power.

I loved the idea, and of course put the article in the magazine, but I had to edit it a bit (with Peter's consent) so I could add in another sample sword, the one from my campaign. :) Ah, the joys of being an editor.

lets see.. in my game there is Hrothgar's Maul - "Briktfar" meaning Bright Deeds - a +3 Maul of Icy Burst which has the Traditions of his people etched all over the head and shaft of the weapon. It also has the symbol of Pelor on the head.

and there is the Wizard's bracers.. they are Sophila. Basically a Bracers of Armour +6 which are intelligent have a personality (a lady called Sophila) and allow the wielder to cast Stoneskin 1/day, allows the wearer to never need to sleep, (but he must rest to regain spells) and some other funky powers..
O.. and they permanently turned Durnark.. into Durnaka.. poor man..lost his bits. He now calls himself Sigrid.

And a Light Mace that now has the Disruption power and is starting become intelligent.

In the game I am playing in Magic items automatically start to become intelligent (% chance every new effect added)

Shatterlocks, a stilletto that can change into a variety of improved lockpicks.

Bloodhunter, a dagger that does minial damage, but can unfailingly point the way to the last person it drew blood from.

Th Codex of Might, a big, leather and metal bound holybook that could be strapped open and worn on the arm as a shield.

Seizmic Hammer: It was a two handed war-hammer that only dealt sonic dammage, but it was all internal. No visable injuries aside from bruising and well...anything you could see leaking out of their ears.

We had this one shortsword that released obcenities evertime it was swung, we dubbed it the Sword of Turrettes

Fury: Adamantine battle axe that recieved +1 and imp crit. when its wielder raged.

My paladin had a wooden lance with no magical properties, but whenever it broke, it would burn away and a new lance would still be there, he was a paladin of a pheonix god.

Well the most unusual weapon I ever saw was the common dagger my barbarian has. He used it only twice and in dire circumstances. Once stuck in a forcecage and thrown as a last ditch effort against an invisible hag. Critical and max damage. I made our cleric cast greater magic weapon on this dagger when I lost my great axe... its DEADLY whenever I have to use it... never seen anything so wierdly lucky.

As for magical weapon... a Great Axe +1 of Throwing and Returning... looks wierd something that big flying.

From my STRIKEFORCE: MORITURI Storyhour-

The Shield of Justice

Shield of Justice+7 (lg) +9 ARMOR ENHANCE
Bash (+1) 1d8 damage
Greater Throw(+2) throw shield 30ft away
Returning (+1) returns to him on mental command
Adam (+1) +1 (non-magical) AC

Artifact that was suggested to be Captain America's shield and Quasar's Power bands combined.

In our last campaign, the GM gave out a sword that was essentially a metal spike on a handle. Whenever the spike was touched to something, and a command-word was said, it would shape a sword made from that thing.

So, you could touch it to a plant and get a plant-sword, or fire and get a fire sword, or water, or ice, or wood, or whatever. It was wicked cool.
