Which d20 books need writing?

I would like to see a book of unique magical items. It wouldn't have to have very many magical items, but each entry would contain a history of the item, it's creator, and maybe even a miniature adventure to get or using the item.

I actually have like a dozen custom magic items I made and have compiled to a similiar effect, but I'm quickly running out of ideas for magic items with unique abilities.

d20 Old West covering both historical and fantastic Old West settings.
1. Setting and background
2. Classes and prestige classes
3. Equipment
4. Sample setting; an area map and town map
5. Adding weird stuff - Native American magic, Old World stuff brought over, etc. Monsters from folklore and made-up things. Dinosaurs or other survivables (mammoths, etc).

I'd like a bunch of sourcebooks on extrapolations of real-world cultures to include D&D magic, but be true to the spirit of their belief system and/or way of life.

I'm working on a series of what I like to call "adventure settings" for the World of Whitethorn that are largely inspired by historical events. For example, the first few books are heavily influenced by the struggle between the various peoples of what is today the British Isles-- Celts, Saxons, Vikings, Normans, etc.

I'd also like to see more solo adventures much like what Tunnels & Trolls did for a while. I think it's great that Expeditious Retreat is doing something like that.

If you like 32-page adventures, you may want to check out the new offerings from Goodman Games in their Dungeon Crawl Classics series. They have some good stuff coming out.

Hey, DC. How about Sean K Reynolds Swords Into Plowshares? It can be yours for a paltry sum, sounds exactly like what you're after, and helps charity!

d20 DM Abominations

A collection of advanced, templated high-level encounters designed with lairs which create appropriate and challenging high level encounters. The raw materials are all there in the books, but a lot of time is often invested in mixing and matching in high level play. I know a lot of people who would love to be able to flip open a book and be able to tweak a creature a little instead of virtually designing it from the ground up. The encounters should be modular so that you can plug them into virtually any campaign, and draw from OGL material like the MM and the Tome of Horrors. My DM is really good at designing creatures like this, and I told him he should write the book, but he doesn't want to, so I'm throwing the idea out here.

I'd suggest starting with "A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe," from Expeditious Retreat Press. Sounds like exactly what you're looking for, or at least a start.

thirded, a must have for anyone doing a world, or playing in one.

How many of these do we need? There are several excellent ones and some dogs. In short, stay away from any "X of Power" that Fast Foward did.

Do look for:

Material Magica
Forged in Magic
Swords into Plowshares
Arms & Armor

The first three pretty mcuh cover what you're looking for down to a T but the last one has a lot of good, useful stuff on it.

...Plexus - Potent Portals... for all your potently-portally-goodness... ;)
