Unlike 3.0 where I gleefully picked up book after book based on the notion of WotC quickly updating the SRD with material from all supplements, my 3.5 purchases will be made primarily on what I actually see updated to the new SRD. My personal support of WotC and their product line will now be made retro-reciprocally with their support of the d20 movement and community. Not that their sales will be greatly affected by this policy but it will keep me somewhat more sane and financially flush... ;)

I said none, for three reasons:

1. Ninety Dollars extra can pick up a lot of other stuff at Gencon that I won't see around here.

2. The SRD will contain the most important changes, and will suffice for my gaming for the first few months.

3. There are several people in my group who will likely be buying it sight unseen, and I will get a chance to look over it then.

If I cannot find ANYTHING more worthwhile at Gencon (that's a pretty ludicrous statement, I know, but very possible), I would change my mind.

Will I buy them eventually? Yes, probably August, or September or so, I will suppose. But between Arcana Unearthed, Testament, The new D&D miniatures, gifts for the family, and the scads of new games that are always available at Gencon from 3rd party publishers, I will have my hands full without spending the extra dough on the books.

The scary part for WotC is that it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE that 3E revised will do more poorly at Gencon than away from it. Most of the attendees are fairly Internet-savvy folks, and those who are up on all the changes will possibly wait (like me) if they are on a budget (like me.) In all likelyhood, it will be a HUGE smash still, but I will be curious to see what the final impression is by people like Peter and Ryan.

I love your sub-text... :p

There's still several pages left in my PHB, and I still can find the cover if I need it.

No need to replace any books right now.

The monster manual is the most important of the three for accual in-game use, since it has such nice clean new stat-blocks. After that the PH has the most sweeping changes, though the're largly things that are only needed when you create/level up a PC and thus I could get by fairly well without if for a bit.

The DMG dosn't apeal to me very much, though. May get a copy sometime.
