Who else is having a GREAT day?

Rel

Liquid Awesome
For a Monday, I'm having an exceptionally good day and I figured I'd check and see if it was something in the air (and maybe just gloat a little).

I got to sleep in (I'm self employed and had no jobs today) while my wife took our daughter to pre-school. I got up and had a nice big cup of coffee and composed my "To Do" list for the day:

1) Try to find time to get a haircut this morning
2) Pick up daughter from pre-school
3) Take movie back to video store and get a new one for my wife to watch tonight
4) Update my Samantha the Red story hour
5) Dork around on ENWorld

I engaged in the last item first until my wife got back from a couple of errands and asked if I wanted to walk the dogs with her. We did and had a nice time walking the dogs through our neighborhood while we held hands. We got home and took a shower together and engaged in a zesty bout of lovemaking that was somehow made all the better because she had to hurry and get ready for work and I needed to be off to pick up my child. Needless to say I left the house a few minutes late with a smile on my face (and a second cup of coffee in my hand) but I hadn't found time for a haircut. There's always tomorrow ;).

The teacher at pre-school told me how impressed she was that my three year old daughter had managed to color a map of the US, doing each state a different color and staying within the lines (except New England where she just colored all those little states red - ironic, no?). The child and I proceeded to the video store and swapped the movies.

On our way out the door we noticed a woman trying to change a very flat tire on her car. I stopped and asked if I could give her a hand. She was thankful and I changed her tire in short order, admonishing her not to drive too far on the donut. She thanked me profusely and said, "I work at the hair salon at the mall. If you ever need a haircut, I'd love to do it for free." I smiled and told her that I was happy to change the tire regardless but that I just might take her up on that. So I've got an appointment tomorrow at 3:00.

We came home and I was able to get the child down for a nap. I made myself lunch of a homemade Reuben since my wife had just bought fresh cornbeef and saurkraut last night. While having lunch I got a call for a new job. I sat down and jammed out a Story Hour update, made some inane posts in the "how to hit on girls..." thread and now my daughter has just awoken from her nap. We're going to take down the Christmas tree and get dinner started.

I gotta eat early because tonight is Game Night. :D

I hope everyone else is having a similar Monday.

My day's okay, I guess. I'm getting a lot done. A bit less than I'd like to, but... It's okay.

Glad to hear your day is great, mate. :)

My day started ... hmmm... let's see, last night at about 1 AM, when I discovered that my hot water heater had self-destructed, and water was pouring all over the inside of the closet it is in - no shut-off valve, so I had to wait for someone from the water dept to get dressed and come out to turn off the main water valve. The plumber won't be out until tomorrow morning, so I'm waterless til then.

I take a great deal of comfort in the fact that the universe isn't fair. I'd hate to think I actually deserve all this junk.

I'm glad to hear you're having a good day, though. Feel free to put any excess karma into an e-mail attachment and throw it my way. ;)

I've been having a great year so far. ;)

I actually have girls hitting on me for a change. And actually I'm at a point for the first time ever where I actually need to choose between two girls.

:)

Actuall, my day has been like most have this past month: Depressingly normal.

I wake up, go to work, get really tired, and come home. I eat dinner, and then proceed up to my room and lay down, for I am dead tired. Too tired to go out, or to do anything besides watch TV and make use of my laptop. Normal activities include watching the History Channel, checking my e-mail, perusing ENWorld and other sites, and wondering why the hell I ever paid money for temporary memberships on Match.com and the like. Stupid, stupid.

Fortunately, the new hard drives I bought just arrived, so I can install them and play some videogames to distract myself from my dysmal existance. I can't wait for school to start again. Then I can actually DO something with myself, and have non-internet based contact with the opposite sex.

I also worry about how the hell I should go about applying to my (hopefully) next college. All the programs I'm interested in have immense prerequisites which I could not possibly fulfill at my first and current college. I also worry about how I'm going to pay for it. Damn.

I got up early and rode with my Dad to the Doctor's office, to have a look at new MRI's of my right hip, which had already been determined to be in need of replacement. The doc and I talked about possible causes, and he finally brought up the "C" word. Cancer. Then upon reviewing my MRI's suggested that my other hip was showing early signs of what was going on in the right hip.

Whisked of for more x-rays and analysis, pale as a, as a, I dunno, Carrion Crawler and sweating like my cousin Carlos.

After another hour or so, I was met again by the good Doc, who said my "good" hip was Okey-fine for now, and the possibility of cancer was nil. So all I was left with was the hip-replacement I had already steeled myself for.

So, yes. I consider this a good day, all things considered.

Not a GREAT day, but not bad for a Monday back at the job. Since I love my job I guess that helps too. ;) Made folks laugh, which is always a plus. Tonight on my "to do" list is to cobble together an outline for an adventure I'm writing for Green Ronin's Medieval Player's Manual. This is the open call you might have seen some weeks ago for pdf adventures to support their Mythic Vistas settings. I'm going through Highmoon Media on this one.

All in all, a relatively normal day.

I've had a pretty good day, as well!

Yesterday was my 21st birthday - so I partied into the night... and, even though I got not-so-much sleep because I started classes today, I'm super chipper.

:)

Also, I cleaned my kitchen to a beautiful shine... and though cleaning wasn't fun - looking at it now makes it worth it!

Ehh... Today was pretty good. I FINALLY managed to get a new vehicle to replace the one that gasped and died Thanksgiving. I picked it up Thursday. We're working a lot of overtime last week and this week, but that should end Friday. Now I get to find a part time job to make the payments, but at least I have the means to do so now!
