Slight correction...there is not an original idea period. And besides, TCM is huge. A very large number of the people I know my age are obsessed with horror movies and the original is one of their favorites. And I know about fourty people who were super excited about seeing the new one before it came out.
 

This is why we try to enforce precision in thread titles over on Nutkinland. Your title could apply to virtually any remake ever done!

Well, my commentary wasn't subtle :)

and since every movie that has ever been remade isn't crappy (even if every remake is crappy) that can't be what I was commenting on. Unless remakes of crappy movies are the only remakes ever made? Now I have to think of some movies that have been remade that weren't crappy.
