I am thinking about taking a one level dip into wildshape ranger but i feel dirty doing so since i don't actually have to give up the combat style feats.....please make me feel justified .

How about the fact that you gain it "as a Druid"? (All the thing about small and medium animals means is you don't get the other sizes, plant shapes, or elemental shapes a Druid would, just the times/day).
Druids don't get Wildshape until level 5, so neither do you. If you only dip wildshaping ranger for a few levels, you'll actually lose a feat for no gain at all. Unless you consider 5+ levels a "dip."
Yeah, you can mildly cheese the system and get Fast Movement.
Still not that broken, you just have a slightly better deal than a Barbarian 1.
If you THEN tried to swap the Barbarian Fast Movement for the Lion Totem alternate class feature in C.Champion and gain pounce... then you deserve to have something thrown at you by the DM.
