Much shorter list.

8th level feat
+1 Str or Dex
You can chose a mastery and apply it to another weapon. The chosen kind of weapon must qualify for the new property.

Done.

Still no need for 20 more weapons.

Monks get evasion at level 7, druids get elemental fury at level 7, rogue reliable talent at level 7, cleric blessed strikes at level 7...
Should those also be attached to a longsword like the fighter's or are the fighter's weapon expert or do those belong on something more exotic like slightly differently named armor instead?

We aren't getting that though.

If 5.5e2024 edition locks weapon to both property and mastery then you need to create whole new weapons for any character who doesn't have the appropriate levels of the one can that can swap masteries to have new combinations.

You are asking the wrong person if you are looking for someone who doesn't think level 7 class features should have multiple options.

Yea they stripped away too many build influenced subjective elements (acp asf variable max dex etc) and didn't apply a hard gating like that wither. I prefer the more variable subjective style used with 3.x armors but that could work if there were stuff between 8&16(ie 1012 14 16) as well
STR 8 and 18 were mentioned as corner cases

Or... you let the fighter have something only they can do, like every other class.

Or... you make a feat that allows mastery swapping.

Or... something I haven't thought of yet.

Currently we don't or wont have those.
So until things change... there is usefulness of an exotic weapon variant rule than gives you Swords with different masteries.

Even if mastery swapping becomes universal, more masteries would offer more options.

Currently, it's a playtest and we haven't gotten any refinement on the mastery system.
Other than "people really liked it", they haven't gone though the feedback.

If they want to add another mastery at some point, then sure. Add a weapon.

Or if you can do it before the playtest ends, add it to an existing weapon. Here are some ideas I had.

No need to do anything more complicated than that.

And definitely don't add weapons just for the sake of more weapons. There are already 40 of them.
