Emphasis mine.

The men are wearing more than the women.

The human and half-elf has full shirts on. The Dwarf, Elf, Gnome and Halfling have full vests; the only bared skin are their arms. The Half-Orc is the only one who has a bare chest.

So, explain why the women are wearing less clothes than the men, if both pictures are intended to be even?
Who said it was intended to be even? Maybe the author just thought the guys would look better in vests than in bras. A couple of the men have shirts on instead of vests. 100% of the women are wearing a top. Less than 100% of the men are. However, even if I concede that, your nitpick sidesteps the actual point, which is, where do you get the idea this was intended to titillate?

Perhaps I'll start to worry if the 4e PHB looks like it was commissioned by Valar Project, but until then, I hardly see the iron fist of the patriarchy hammering down on anyone.

And you're assuming it's non-sexual. Your point?
So, one side assumes one thing, the other side assumes another thing, and we have no reason to side with either side. You know what would be great? If someone had something other than bald assertion to base their arguments on.
