More Blademasters
For defense, you could give the Blademaster Armor Compatibility, or you could give him a higher defense, although you would need a +7 progression for it to be as good as Armor Compatibility.
As for Parting the Silk, I could think of all sorts of alternatives. Rather than giving max damage, you could let him roll the damage die twice and take the highest (like the Dark One's Own Luck, but for damage die). This could apply to every attack, or just the first one to connect each round, rather than an x times per day thing. Alternatively, you could give an extra attack per round with a -2 penalty to all attacks (like Quick Shot, but with swords). You could give him Power Attack as a free feat. Or you could do Superior Weapon Specialization (which may or may not be a 3rd ed feat, but I've seen it mentioned a few times at Wizards), which has Superior Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization as pre-reqs and gives +1 to hit and +1 to damage. You could also give Improved Critical, but I think that's already a benefit of Blademaster.
