A dull whittling knife

This knife once belonged to a famous dwarven stonemason called Carver Gudstone who dabbled in transmutation magic in his spare time. His name is inscribed in dwarf runes on the handle.

The knife will not take an edge and will remain stubbornly blunt until a Mending cantrip is cast on it. If this is done, it will instantly become diamond-sharp for 10 minutes after which it will revert to dullness until it is Mended again. While sharp, it can be used to carve even the hardest stone as easily as butter.

Gudstone made a handsome living at markets and fairs frequented by the wealthy, using it to render lightning portraits of customers in the form of stone busts, which they could take away with them there and then. The secret was in his knife, which he knew would be useless to any other mason who tried to steal it.

Gudstone eventually became his own memorial when he accidentally transmuted himself into a flying buttress and his knife was believed lost until it surfaced recently in the place where you found it.

Next item: one half of a pair of scissors

This foot-long object is one half of a pair of shears such as that used by weavers, tailors and seamstresses. Specifically the half with the larger loop in the handle for the fingers rather than the thumb. This particular item, however, is most useful to weavers of magic.
A number of times per long rest equal to the wielder's spellcasting ability modifier, they may point the scissor at a target they believe to be under a non-permanent spell effect and make a snipping motion by pressing their thumb towards the handle as though using a regular pair of shears. This will cause the scissor to "snip" the magic holding the effect in place, acting as if they hadjust cast Dispel Magic on the target. The scissor, however, will only ever remove one magical effect on a target per attempt.
If the wielder attempts to use it to dispel a permanent magical effect that mimics a particular spell, that effect is suppressed for 1 turn.

Next item: An hourglass with both red and blue sand in it. One color of sand falls as normal but the other defies gravity and falls upwards to gather at the top of the glass...

An hourglass with both red and blue sand in it.

This device is all that remains of the control panel of Bezolo's Fanciful Time Chariot. It indicates the rate at which the observer is moving forwards or backwards through the time stream. If you are moving forwards, the red sand falls upwards and the blue downwards; conversely if you are moving backwards through time.

The Time Chariot was annihilated many years ago, along with its inventor, when a time paradox caused oscillations in the space-time continuum and, while lurching violently forwards the chariot collided with itself coming back.

The hourglass is one of the material components of the Timewarp spell. There is rumoured to be a scroll containing the only remaining copy of the spell lodged in a grotto in the kelp forests on the far side of the moon and guarded by three chronosphynxes. To get past the sphynxes, you have to answer a riddle correctly before they ask it. The difficulty is, they are allowed to change the riddle after you have given your answer. (No-one said it had to be easy).

Next item: A leather shoe with a seven-pointed star design on the toecap.

Well done! I was stumped with the red and blue sand flowing different directions.

When joined with its mate, Fey Shoes, or Faerie Boots are very useful items. The wearer of these shoes can choose one creature as a Bonus Action and that creature is subject to the effects of the spell Faerie Fire (save applicable), however these effects are visible and usable by the wearer of the shoes only. As with all magical footwear, both shoes are needed in order to access its power.

If attuned, the wearer may cast the spell Faerie Fire as per the spell description. In this manner, the shoes have 7 charges and regain 1d4 charges at midnight.

a pair of Mithral Knitting Needles

Grandmother Madga's Knitting Needles

These enchanted knitting needles belonged to the night hag Grandmother Magda and are the only items that didn't explode when she was killed by adventurers a century ago. Ancient, even by hag standards, the needles are of the finest quality; when the command word is spoken they will knit over night any item of non-mgical clothing of finest qualify. Rumours persist of two other command words, one that will knit magical clothing or other fabric items such as flying carpets, and another that purports the needles will knit the same high quality but magical cursed clothes.

A large key ring with nine iron keys

With these holy relics of good you can banish nine evil beings to one of the nine layers of hell. Once the nine keys are used they crumble to dust. Depending on who one banishes, the being that rules the hells may or may not smile upon you.

Next: A human hand that glows green.

A human hand that glows green

This is a minor artifact known as the Hand of Forgotten Glory... It was the left hand of Alchelaeus Morehenge, an archaeologist and mage who became a lich in order to continue his obsessive quest for ancient secrets.
On command, the fingers of the mummified hand will burst into green flame, shedding bright light in a 20-ft. radius.
In addition, the hand can be commanded to move its fingers into different configurations, which will cast the following spells once each per short rest: Mending, Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Identify, Arcane Lock, Knock and Locate Object.
