I have a lot of the same reasons many posters here have already said, but I think there are 2 main ones that stand out:
1- Wotc and Hasbro. I really haven’t liked much of what they’ve been putting out in content lately, it feels very “bland” to me. And the actions taken by the corporate leadership in the last couple of years have really soured me to buying anything with their stamp on it…. As opposed to a few years back when I pretty much bought every one of their books just to enjoy.
2- I’m now running a fairly home brewed 5e game, with cherry-picked content from 3pp like Level Up, as well as some of my own hacks, like incorporating some elements we liked from (gasp!) 4e. So the new stuff would have to be pretty compelling to make me want to jettison what’s already running well for us.

I’m only tempted to incorporate a few elements from 5.24, such as the new monk class, but it’s not really worth a whole book to me and I can wait until it hits OGL/cc.

I don't know. Going from 2014 where rules were vague and incomplete to 2024 where there is even more vagueness and incompleteness seems to indicate they want an increase in rulings.
I am not sure that 2024 is more vague and incomplete, did they screw some rules up, sure, is it more than in 2014, no idea. I do get the impression that they lean more into rules however. The whole thing has some 'return to 4e' vibes to me, even if obviously to a more limited degree

Much the same here. 5e books were pretty much an auto-buy (with only a few exceptions) until a few years ago. Then I got really, really picky, strictly waiting for reviews before I bought. And that was when I still liked the base rules (2014).

Now that the base rules are also changing, and they're less appealing, why bother keeping up at all? (The 2025 Monster Manual might change my mind, but the previews so far make me doubt it.)

Yes, again for me the new Monster Manual would have to be really compelling, especially since I now own Level Up’s Monster book, 5 Kobold Press monster books, the Monster Manual Expandeds, and Flee Mortals.

Count me as someone in the "meh" category. It's not really a significant change enough to make the purchase worth it to me.

However I'm certainly not the target market. I'm trying to play anything but D&D these days. Nothing against it but there's so many other good RPGs to explore. And it's like having a wealth of great TV shows out there but people only ever want to watch game of thrones.

Maybe. From what I've seen so far there are holes all over the place and the need for rulings galore. Maybe the DMG shores things up, though. 🤷‍♂️

For 5e play, I primarily use Level Up A5E.
The 5e2024 PHB just doesn't offer me anything, as a GM, that I'd want to use over what I have now or, in the case of a couple rules ideas that I like, I can just use them without buying said PHB. "Surprise gives disadvantage on initiative." Cool.
They didn't fix some spells/issues that I thought would've been fixed. Or made others worse. Spirit Guardians, what the heck?

If my players want to use the 2024 classes instead of the 2014 ones, they can... But I see 5e's Weapon Masteries, and I see A5E's Maneuvers, and one of these things looks more appealing than the other- I wouldn't let them mix on the same character, though.

Also I'm trying to convert my players to DCC where applicable :D I like its system for many reasons, but it also fits what I'd like my setting to be much better than what I've had to warp it into, in order to have it make sense with D&D5e rules.
