    Fiend Folio contents

I've only just returned to Enworld, and gaming in general, after months of voluntary exile. I've noticed that Fiend Folio 3E will soon become a reality, and I'm interested in D&D 3.5. I'd like to know if the archdevils and demon lords will be reprinted in FF (if so, hopefully with some better...

    Favorite FR deity?

For those fans of FR, who is your most favorite deity? I would have to say Chauntea, myself. I would love nothing more than to pinch those cute cheeks and squeeze...well, you get the idea.

Which Class do you hate/dislike ?

I'll tell you what, my friend. If I can get around to it in the next week or so, I'll do a conversion of the 1E bard to 3E and place it in the conversion library. Will be the first of my many future contributions! :)

    Evil vs Villainy

The worst antagonist my PCs have ever faced was a LN clerical inquisitor. It was a time of increasing authoritarian measures in the kingdom, and he was a centerpiece in the effort. As he was an established official and church representative, they couldn't simply kill him. But their...

WotC Seeking Your Setting Proposals (was "Big Wizard announcement")

Finally, the World of Manilowland will get a chance to ascend to its rightful place... Now... I've got work to do!

Asking myself "Why?" about gaming lately...

I feel your pain, Dr Midnight. My campaign rarely has dungeon delves. It certainly has an epic theme towards which all of the present and past adventures are designed, but it leaves 90% to player choice and even dice rolls are entirely subordinate to the needs of the story line. While I don't...

    Some divine abilities for fiendlords

True. I wasn't trying to convey otherwise, only that calling a fiendlord's bonus "profane" rather than simply "divine" seemed more appropriate.

    Some divine abilities for fiendlords

IMC I have given my archfiends certain divine abilities. They are treated as lesser deities w/DR 10 for purposes of AC and checks (a profane, rather than divine, bonus) and most other abilities. What I've also done, and what other fiendworshipping DMs may like, is give them the ability to sense...

Archdevils vs. Lords of the Nine

You are great, Flexor! Woe betide the PC in your campaign who slips up and uses the word "baatezu"! :D

    Deific encounters IYC

DMs (or players w/delusions of DMhood): What constitutes a "divine encounter" in your world? Actually enountering a deity or its avatar...running into some sacred place infused with the power of a deity...? What? And, given that, how frequent are they? In my campaign (going on 6 years), PCs...

Archdevils vs. Lords of the Nine

...more of Information's useless speculation and theorizing... After some consideration, I've come to the conclusion that usage of the term "Lords of the Nine" is moot (except from an aesthetic vantage) given that the term "devil" has returned to standard usage. Why, you ask? Under 2nd...

    Maglubiyet gets the SHAFT!

I find it utterly absurd that they could have temple layouts for some of the Greyhawk deities, when they could have used that extra space to detail more deities. Get rid of Heironeous's and Hextor's temple descriptions, and you've got enough space for Maglubiyet.

    Upper_Krust (or anyone)...CR configuration?

I have recently created some nondeific "unique" beings of rather high power level, and I am having trouble configuring their Challenge Rating. I begin with the obvious, HD, and work my way from there, but some of them have 40+ HD and several unique powers and abilities. Any suggestions?

    Question about Conversion Library

I've converted supplemental material for AD&D 1st Ed. (though not of TSR origin) that I'd like to submit. Are there any stipulations?

What flavor does your campaign have?

Manilow is an Uber-Deity in my campaign. He fathered the deities in a primordial realm known as the Copacobana.

What flavor does your campaign have?

Very high fantasy, medieval, with a powerful Nordic influence to the nonhuman races. Knight errantry is a popular vocation of young warriors and high magic-ridden adventure awaits those who take up that mantle. I was also strongly influenced by a reading of Ywain: The Knight of the Lion and the...

    Stephen Jay Gould

Try his "Full House: The Spread of Excellence from Plato to Darwin". He argues extensively against the "progress" paradigm of modern thought. I used it in my undergraduate thesis: Understanding the History of Life: Progress and Evolution. Thank you for letting us know, KidCthulu. I truly...

Deities and Demigods ~ Utility Concerns

One problem I've encountered in actually using the book is the rigidity with which the deities are defined. It is next to impossible to tweak a 3rd Edition deity without far reaching ramifications. Try changing a deity's rank from greater to intermediate, or whatever, and you'll find yourself...

Deities and Demigods ~ Utility Concerns

Well, I was certainly impressed by the attention given to deity stats and abilities, but I must agree with Psion in that more information to priesthoods would have been nice. I would have liked to see more generic information added that could be interwoven within any campaign. Upper_Krust's...

Deities and Demigods ~ Utility Concerns

One of the interesting format concepts in the book is separating entirely textual information from the stat blocks. I can see DMs (who don't find deity stats useful) using only the first section of the deity write-up. Although I plan to eventually stat all my deities, I only have use right now...
