Now that you mention it, AD&D did something similar where you added your weapon speed to your ini (spells had a speed too)... Good times. :)

5E's trying to be a bit more streamlined though, for good or bad

Ah yes weapon speed and the various chart for THACO vs. certain armor types :D Good times

lol. Figures. :)

By the way, what version of Shield did we go with again? The one where you spend an MP at casting to cast it, or the one where you spend an MP as reaction each time you use it? If it's the former, that's the version Ntensity is casting now.

The Shield is an enhancement that you can add to a maintained Armor spell. As a reaction and 1 MP. The bonus last until the end of your next turn. It stacks with the Armor Spell AC bonus.

So to make sure we are all on the same page here is the map again. The venting systems (the dash-lines) run 10ft above the floors and do not block the hallways. Everyone is on the floor now. The hallway to the West is where NTensity saw the Watch Spirit and he killed it in the room just about there. The 3 mutants that just attacked the group and are all dead now came from around the eastern hallway. The Men's and Women's bathrooms are right above where the team is. The women's room door has been ripped off its hinges and is lying on the floor. NTensity saw the "aura" of a dead body inside the women's room.

Noted on the Shield.

Also don't forget that Juno is looking through the dead bodies before taking off her suit (post 88). Anything in there?

Re consequences of nat 1 summonings, I’d suggest leaving it sort of general, so yourself and future GMs can improvise based on type of spirit, circonstances, etc?

If you want to balance it without a confirmation roll, you might give something good on a nat 20?

I was just reading the errata on Unarmed attack and what's posted in the Roll20 Compendium is as follows...

"Instead of using a weapon to make a melee weapon Attack, you can use an Unarmed Strike: a punch, kick, head--butt, or similar forceful blow (none of which count as weapons). On a hit, an Unarmed Strike deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1 + your Strength modifier. You are proficient with your unarmed strikes."

I always assumed unarmed attacks did 1d3 damage not just 1 point. Melee attack also assumes Strength modifier unless otherwise noted BUT again I always assumed that you could use either. Learn something new every day... SOOOO for this games Houserules, Melee can use Strength or Dexterity and normal unarmed deals 1d2 plus the same modifier in bludgeoning damage. Martial Arts ups the damage and allows you to use a Bonus action to make another unarmed attack. Martial Arts Expert lets you make this extra unarmed attack as a free action. Re-reading my notes on Martial Art Expert that might not be clear which is why I think Davos made an extra melee attack... when it was suppose to be an extra unarmed melee attack roll... sorry I will edit.

Davos made a melee attack with his normal action, an off-hand attack with his bonus action, and another attack with his extra action (from his enhanced reflexes).
