D&D 5E WotC Shares Theros Table of Contents

WotC has shared the table of contents of Mythic Odysseys of Theros. Well, part of it, at least. Update -- thanks to "obscureReviewer" on Twitter, here's a fuller image!

Did we see this rule somewhere already? You refer to text. I'm assuming this is something different than the DMG as this comes at first level it seems.

It was in one of the previews, forget if they showed it or if one of the designers just explained it from the text, but it's just Feats.

I haven't been following this too closely, but did pre-order it. This appears to be primarily a setting book. Do we know if it includes an adventure? WotC is calling this a campaign sourcebook... whatever that means.

Right there is the TOC, third column, Chapter 4, "Creating Theros Adventures," Adventure: "No Silent Secrets."

In this edition it seems that campaign sourcebook is a book that focuses on fleshing out a world setting (Eberron, Ravinca) vs an adventure that features a region or two (Strahd, Yawning Portal)

It was also a phrase in AD&D for their historical guides and other softback book series, so it's not a new term.

Share a little bit of your conviction?

I looked at all the previews yesterday, then spent the rest of the evening looking at Art of MTG: Theros on the website....and now I think I want to play a greek-themed campaign.

Damn it.

Side note: Dominaria would be an awesome setting for D&D, why did I not know of it before now! I've read the Planeshift article before, but seeing all the art really struck me.
I have been listening to Stephen Fry's Mythos (an amazing audiobook FYI) and am super primed for Greek themed D&D.

I'm just trying to talk myself off the preorder ledge.

I'm hoping "Heroic Drive" is a streamlined Inspiration mechanic. I.E., you only have one thing to remember, not three.

I certainly don't want an offsetting drawback. As a DM if I am handing out goodies I typically don't like to have strings attached.

I still have flashbacks from when a GM would love to do this to the point you regretted your gift. His idea was that you got your gift, it came with a mystery drawback (that you only learned through play) and then the drawback would (in theory) fade away over time -- unless he was having too much fun.

Find a dragon egg? Finally babysit it enough to have it hatch? Congrats, every time you cast a spell, it claws the spit out of your shoulder and forces a concentration check.

Out of nowhere, your warhorse grows lumps out of it's back and you have to pay for a special harness? It eventually grows wings? Congrats, it totally "forgets" how to fight in combat for several levels until it relearns how to fight with its wings. No thanks.

WotC may have even knocked out of the park with their version, but not for me.
