• The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!

D&D 5E Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

So, the sorcerer is hiding. Thing with D&D is it isn't a solo game. If the monsters can't find the sorcerer they will kill the other party members instead.

And if the barbarian happens to survive, he will find the snivelling cowardly sorcerer and ring his neck.

The devious psychic assassin works and an NPC villain under the DM's control, but if a player tries playing like that they very soon won't have any friends to play with.

No, you are wrong. You can know a couple of extra spells from the class list, and you can acquire the TEMPRARY knowledge to cast ONE extra divination/enchantment spell of your choice. Then you are limited to the pathetic number of sorcerers get normally. And the only mind control spell that is actually useful against (some) monsters is Dominate Monster, which you get at level 15. Suggestion simply doesn't do what you think it does.
Aberrant Mind's Psionic Spells feature(Extra 12 spells known)

Possible bonus spells (Total of 12 extra bonus spells):
Suggestion, Dominate Person, Telekinesis, Spam Dissonant Whisper, Black Tentacle, Charm Person, Charm Monster, Sleep, Mind Spike, Summon Aberration (It's really powerful), Synaptic Static, See invisible, GEAS (30 days charmed), Modify Memory, Arcane Eye, Hold Person, Hold Monster, etc.
It's a really strong spell list. Are sure about it?
At level 9, Aberrant Mind has 22 Spells know. A wizard level 9 with 18 int has only 13 prepared spells.
I can say that Aberrant Mind/Cloakwork soul are more versatile than a wizard. Ironically.

The other 10 sorcerer spells are just versatility and damage as a normal sorcerer can do.

If you are an spellcaster on a dungeon with your party, avoiding being targeted or damaged (Concentration spells) is all you want. That's why Steath casting is perfect for a sorcerer, solo or not.

There's very little damage you can do and remain hidden. It doesn't matter if you are using Psionic Sorcery if the spell is coming from your position anyway. Charm isn't that good. All it does is make someone view you as a friendly acquaintance, like that guy you met twice over a period of a month at some parties. It might get you a discount on a purchase, but it's not going to persuade someone to do anything significantly against what they would normally do for someone they met once or twice.

But, I can do a complete build, probably the strongest in tier 2.
"Strongest in tier 2?" Let's see this build. Race, level, ability scores, spell selection, metamagic, feats/ASIs.

Edit: Don't forget to include a link to your source for the Aberrant Mind itself. And no mixing the Unearthed Arcana version with the Tasha's version. Pick one or the other.

Edit to the edit: This was not intended as a request for pirated material. There have been legit spoilers and previews released by Wizards.

Wring, not ring.

Unless the sorcerer's head is full of bell that rings when you pull on his neck... but then that wouldn't be very stealthy :p

Where did you see the Psionic Spells feature? I've yet to see the new version.

The Tasha's version is stronger.
