Here is where I think the importance of a DM comes it at session 0 and in determining the setting. DMs need to remember, just because something is published by WotC, does not mean it is valid to use in their campaign. It is simple a tool or example for consideration and to ease incorporation.31 playable creature types is IMO about 25 too many. Most of those 25 were once seen as monsters, and worked better that way.
