D&D 5E Hasbro’s Dungeons & Dragons TV and Movie Strategy

Most likely I was wrong but I feel curiosity about this idea, the partnership of the D&D lines with different companies, for example one with Disney (Dragonlance?), other with Amazon, with HBO/Warner(Birthright?), Netflix, Paramount (Forgotten Realms?). The strategy of "don't put all the eggs in one basket". Each company would try to use the partnership to prove they are the best option and old and forgotten lines would take an opportunity to become a new cash-cow, but also there are some risks, because here the crossovers would be too complicated. Or maybe a serie works for a season or two but it is cancelled, and then it has to be continued by other plataform. It wouldn't be the first time.

The videogame studios and movie producers may start from zero creating their own franchises, or adquiring 3PPs with potentially valuable IPs. Throne of Eldraine may be interesting like a "Shreck for young adults, not too grimm neither kid-friendly".

That sounds like a licensing nightmare.

Most likely you to be right, it would be too complicate, but Hasbro know intercompany crossovers may make a lot of money.

I supposse not even Hasbro herself is safe about the future plans. But at least I could bet we will be Hasbro's franchises as "guest artists" in other videogames, for example after Snake Eyes more skins in Fortnite, and some other shooter videogame. Why not? Transformers appeared in World of Ships and Smite. Even in a future they could appear in Fortnite (a couple of names appeared in a recent survey).

Other option is to recycle old and forgoten franchises, to be adapted into a new cartoon serie in a streaming service, and later adapted into D&D. For example Golden Girl and the Gemstone Guardians, (now Hasbro is the owner of Galoob brand), but I would name to change the name because today "Golden Girls" sounds like that sitcom from the 80's with thouse mature ladies. In the past I suggested "Inhumanoid" with a style more for young adult.

I mean, the strategy would be to create new IPs, and later these to be added to the D&D multiverse.

Other point is if finally D&D action live is a smash-hit, then other movie studios could search other TTRPGs to be adapted, for example Shadowrun, (Exalted and World of Darkness are in the way), 7th Sea, Eclipse Phase...
