The video below from Nerd Immersion delves into the races in more detail.

wow... okay I can't even try to talk to someone who can't put themselves in someone elses shoes... I mean I thought role players were MORE empathic because we could see all the roles, more and more I realize I was wrong.
Paradoxically, not everyone who engages with this hobby is interested in roleplaying. Some people play pawn stance and treat the hobby like a boardgame or video game. Some are just in it for the beer & pretzels hangout. At a guess the ones who are already super empathetic are drawn to the deep roleplaying or those into the deep roleplaying develop more empathy. It’s not a universal trait. Clearly. Just like most things the hobby is a series of overlapping Venn diagrams.

Some people are just really good at divesting themselves of others' ability to empathize with them. Mostly be posting like a tweet from your least favorite uncle.

The vast majority of players seem to disagree with you, and, more importantly, the game’s designers also seem to disagree with you.

I know that, thus why I said the bolded part below above.
So-called "mechanical balance" is an overblown idea that is overdetermined - but I have long been an outlier about that, I guess.

Not sure why you felt the need to tell me something I already said I know.:rolleyes:

A Title Much Cooler Than Anything on the Old Site
Yet more legacies of the game being destroyed. Let's give everyone goodies, no drawbacks/penalties/etc. despite it making perfect sense (please explain how a halfling has the same stride as a human...?

Basilisk lizard
Runs on two legs
Size: tiny (max height/length = 36")
Max speed: 15mph (and can run on water)

Human
Runs on two legs
Size: medium
Max speed: 15-16 mph (only one known to have walked on water)

Okay, sorry, that's silly. But watch a Youtube clip of basilisk lizards running in slow motion. It will make you happy.
