D&D 5E What (if anything) do you find "wrong" with 5E?

Oh goodie, trying to harass someone using information from a separate thread! Horray!

And for your information, D&D Beyond is free.

Was just a question. If you feel harassed, I am sorry. But all I get from you is negative posts and slights against the designers or 5e. So I wanted to know if it was out of experience or not.
I mean, we had that in 4e, that people who did never play 4e crizmtizied it without actually playing. Who totally get it wrong what worked and what not. This still has an effect on 5e, as some things that worked well in 4e were changed (not necessarily for the better, to obfuscate that it came from 4e, like hit dice and healing surges).

You voted in a different thread, that you don't own 5e dnd books and won't buy 5.5e.
So did you actually play it or is it just arm chair game criticism?
does everyone you play with buy books? I know at this point it is true of me (but we are DMs and hardcore gamers) but for years I ran Con and Store games that regularly had players that just used wikis and asked to barrow books.

Heck... 1 player in my current game who is also a DM didn't buy a PHB until covid hit... and even that was cause he couldn't just borrow one of ours.

If you are now using more words, I will use less.

Most people don't bother thinking about whether their ideas will be popular.
And, worse, they don't care.

If you are proposing ideas because you want to- for 3PP or homebrew, cool! If you are just complaining in general, cool too! But if you are actually trying to critique design decisions, then you have to start with the premise that the design isn't about what is "best," but has to serve a lot of different interests in order to be broadly popular.
But what I want is what is both best and going to be broadly popular. Now if only I could get everyone else to understand that.

CR should be abandoned. It can't work. There's no way to make every combination of 4 classes have the same strengths and weaknesses vs. various monsters of the same CR. Therefore monsters will punch higher, lower and equal to their CR against various different groups.
Wait what, reducing complex phenomena to a single number doesn't work? I never would have guessed! :p
