I could see a version of the Wizard in which all the Schools subclasses are reduced to a single "Specialist" subclass.4 seems way too low,
unless they somehow reduce schools(s) wizards and cleric domains.

Order of the scribes could become the "standard" wizard.I could see a version of the Wizard in which all the Schools subclasses are reduced to a single "Specialist" subclass.
that too.4 in the playtest.
Not 4 total in the game ever.
Here's hoping.4 seems way too low,
unless they somehow reduce schools(s) wizards and cleric domains.
Don't worry. I'm sure they are saving it for when they sell us Eberron with the 5e engine for a third time. This also seems like confirmation of no Artificers in the playtest. Which is what I think most of us suspected already, but it is disappointing. While the version in Tasha's should still be usable in OneD&D, not having it in the PHB means it's a lot less likely to get new subclasses in future supplements.
Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition does this with their Arcanist subclass. Arcanist | Level UpI could see a version of the Wizard in which all the Schools subclasses are reduced to a single "Specialist" subclass.
