Deadline just reported that the film did $5.6M in previews (including $1.5M from pre Thursday screenings). This is about $2M more than the latest Shazam and about $2M less than John Wick 4 did for previews. Given that, it should hit $40M with $55M in the realm of possibility (Studio is conservatively estimating $30M).
John Wick was awesome! Would love to see that director do an action film set in the D&D universe. There is a real opportunity to give filmmakers with a specific vision the keys to the world to make really unique takes on D&D adventures instead of trying to make each film fit a specific mold.
