My players use a guidance cantrip for +1d4 on most checks so upgrading to +1d6 won't complicate matters but I don't really like the idea formally sub-dividing all the skills to look more like 3e as that looks like it could get messy. I'm going to try it next adventure though. I also like doing 1 point of damage on a push or knockdown etc since it feels less like a wasted attack to a strength based character.Having just finished running a long LU campaign, my players actually straight up said they hated the expertise die. They liked the simple and consistent bonus that you don’t have to think about. We will be going to regular expertise in my next game
Of course, using tactics to grant your Rogue allies opportunity or off turn attacks is a great way to boost dpr. And cunning strike looks like a great way to engineer either falling damage or advantage on your allies' attacks, which increase group dpr.
