D&D (2024) PHB 2024 Is Hilariously Broken. Most OP of All Time?

so it's just OK to use as other 3rd level damage spells are almost a waste of a slot and action.
also fireball really only gets to be broken like that when a PC gets to just mash the 5th level version of it over and over again as Crawford once said. Unfortunately I don't think he was talking about the class that can do that when he said it

I'm just gonna wait until all 3 core books are released and the fans take a look at them before I jump to any conclusions.
I've gotten over the initial period of FOMO about not being an early adopter of 2024.

You mean the spell the designers themselves admitted to making better than it's level due to D&D's terrible relationship with tradition and nostalgia?

Only relative to other damage dealing spells that are even worse.

In the right situation it's about a B+ tier spell. It's really a C or B- spell.

Hit point inflation in 5E. In effect it's around 3d6 damage relative to an older edition.

Remember the really broken and overpowered warmage from 3.5 where the monsters had around half the hit points?

Isn't this thread about trying to convince us 5.5 is going to be more broken than the MC Escher painting that was 3.5? Why are you reminding us how that's never, ever going to be the case?

Most broken stuff in 3.5 was higher levels (mostly theoretical), or the Druid in the PHB.

The warnage sucked I was joking. In 2014 there's around 6 direct damage spells worth using and a 3 of them are only at low levels or twinned.

Boom spells anyway not recurring damage eg spirit guardians.
