there is about 8 billion different 'official' errata for the shield spell. some of them directly contradict others. basically no one knows what the frag is going on with that spell. personally, we say it gives a shield armor bonus, and doesn't negate AoO.

as an archer your biggest problems are going to be DR creatures and people sundering your bow. I would put boots of Str/Spring on your list, and think about getting shot on the run. If you get cornered by anyone with a magical greatsword (with or without sunder feat) you can kiss your magic bow...
