    Making a Treasure Hoard

Thanks for the input. I'm not worried at all about adventure hooks - I've got those in spades. And really, yes, I do want to worry about the exact treasure, which is why I posted here. Oh sure, there'll be the requisite coins, ingots and whatnot, but we've been building up to this for months and...

    Making a Treasure Hoard

Hi All, Some time ago, one the of the PCs in my Victoria D&D game found a treasure map which leads to a sunken ship, which is rumored to contain some of Napoleon's loot. I've been in a creative rut lately, however, and I'd like suggestions for interesting treasure, especially of the non-magical...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Aw Shawn, me, too. :( But mostly, I feel very sad about not having the magazines anymore. They were always a nice surprise to find in my mailbox every month. I might not have always used or even liked everything in them, but they always gave me something to think about. I will miss them.

OK - so give us details, man! :D

    How's the Love?

It's pretty chaste in my group. Sometimes NPCs get crushes on the characters - while DMing I had an NPC recite bad love poetry to a PC once. But generally we keep it low-key or use it for comic relief. :)

    Why do you love/hate Drizzt?

I have to say I'm a bit puzzled with the love/hate of Drizzt. I've never read the books and we have never had anyone in our group (to my knowledge) that wanted to play a "Drizzt clone." In fact, we've had very few drow (actually, I can't think of a single instance) in any of campaigns in the...

    D&D 4E Will 4E be announced at D&D Experience?

Can't say in general, but in our group we have more people who want to DM than we have time for. Not in our group, but that might just be the personality of the players. If a situation isn't neatly explained by a rule, more often than not the players look to the DM to make a judgment and go...

What Would Your Campaign/Setting's Inspirational Reading List Be?

My D&D game takes place in Victorian England. Here are an assortment of books I have stolen ideas from: by Erik Larson The Devil in the White City by Caleb Carr The Alienist by Phillip Pullman His Dark Materials Trilogy by Michael Faber The Crimson Petal and the White by Greg Keyes Newton's...

    Big sheets of graph *paper*

wow. Love the graph paper. I use the big pads from office supply stores and although they are pretty cool....man, a whole roll would be just awesome.

    Anyone seen Dragon 352 yet?

In case anyone from Paizo happens by, I just wanted to say: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! :D I've been waiting a long time for this issue and I am not disappointed. I am a big fan of Mieville and I thought the articles on Bas Lag were very well done. I have no complaints and only praise...

Santa brought me [THIS] Cool Gaming Stuff!

Nothing much this year, but I didn't really want or need anything game-related this year. :) My boyfriend told me he almost bought me the D&D cartoon as a gag gift. I told him, "That's not a gag gift." (That was one of my favorites as a kid - seriously.) He almost bought me the Star Trek cartoon...

Amazon: Last War (Eberron) and Complete Champion

Originally its product page just said the item was currently unavailable. There was no preorder button, but there was a button that said something like "email me when this title becomes available." Also, now the Complete Mage product page shows that its available for order - before it said it...

Amazon: Last War (Eberron) and Complete Champion

errr...actually I've never had a real problem with that. I'm tracking the shipping progress of Castle Ravenloft right now actually. :) I just thought it was odd that some books were available for purchase and others weren't, not even for preorder, with no rhyme or reason to it.

Amazon: Last War (Eberron) and Complete Champion

Weird Amazon question and slightly off-topic: I'm noticing some weirdness with WotC books on Amazon. For example, I preorderd Expedition to Castle Ravenloft through Amazon (and should receive it today, yay!), but I'm not allowed to preorder Cityscape. Also, I can preorder Complete Scoundrel...

Throw me a bone, WOTC! [Twilight Tomb]

I think monster descriptions are probably the least necessary thing in an adventure. Either the DM has the book the creature is from and can look it up or he can just make up what the thing looks like. My guess is that if an editor needs to trim the word count of an adventure product that would...

    Expedition to Castle Ravenloft

I am going to try to a run a shortened version (one session or maybe two if the other DMs in my group can slot it in) for Halloween. I hadn't planned on buying it, then changed my mind on a whim. I can't wait to see it. :)

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

Although I liked the pilot overall, I have to say that it seems a lot like Sorkin's soapbox. I have a feeling he's wanted to deliver that "53 seconds" speech for several years now...
