D&D (2024) 2024 D&D character sheet, what do you think?

Nice. I think I still have a character on one of the Armory sheets.

Not ever being content with the official sheets (since the 90s), I've made my own character sheets since I got my first printer (8-pin dot matrix).

I might need to check if I still have any characters on the hand made ones I had dad run off on the copier at work...

That is exactly why I gently push any players of mine to consider using this version instead. I really love that it gives a space to write any sort of proficiency, and doesn't bog it down with text for all of the skills that are just identical to the base modifier.

Credit where credit is due.
Oh, I could see where that could be real handy! For example, if someone was playing in a homebrew sci-fi or modern 5e game. You could add tech skills in there.

I'll check out the link.

Okay, so a couple of things I wish I could see with character sheets.

First, the one on D&D Beyond needs to increase their font size. Some of us are over 50 now and our eyes don't read tiny text like that like we used to.

Second, there is a lot of info I would like to see on a character sheet that is often omitted. The old 2e REF-2 Green sheets had some of these. In no particular order...

  • Homeland
  • Gender
  • Religion/Deity
  • Warlock Patron (Can be listed as Deity/Patron)
  • Appearance
I'd like to see a sheet where you can edit the coins. For example, Dragonlance has traditionally used steel over gold. Dark Sun has things like ceramic pieces.

I'd like to see custom skills areas for folks who might play a setting or genre that has different skills.

That's all I can think of for now. But that's kind of my wish list.

My wish list is that you could export the PC data and transform it to whatever character sheet you wanted. Even better yet, let people make custom sheets that they can share similar to the other homebrew creations and you can pick and choose your style.

I maintain that the best 5e Character Sheet is actually the Monster Statblock. Here's an example of one of my playtest characters using the format that I came up with (that started with the Monster Statblock)

Everything you need. One page. Tells you what everything does.

Oddly enough, I don't like the 5e Monster Statblock for Monsters!
It works for level 1, but what sort of hot mess is it at level 10 or level 20??? (Seriously, not joking...)

I remember @DND_Reborn tried something similar with our groups a couple years ago. In tier 1 it is great, tier 2 was ok, but for tier 3 and beyond never worked as well IME.

You mean MY sheet? It looks great at level 10 and level 20. It doesn't stay at 1-page (especially not for spellcasters) but it still uses less pages than most character sheets I've seen. I'm not sure why you'd think it would be worse - how cluttered is the Standard Character Sheet at level 10 or level 20? A mess, IME.

Oh, my mistake. Yes, I meant yours, but for some reason I thought you kept it to 1 page at higher tiers LOL! Yeah, I just couldn't see how that would happen without it looking a mess, too.

Along these lines, I would like to unify the player character sheet format with the monster statblock format, where the sheet looks like a statblock, except the statblock omits everything except the most frequently used combat information.

I like this approach. Can you post an example of a level 20 character using this format?
