D&D (2024) 4/26 Playtest: The Fighter

And I think denial that the warlock was destroyed is at best wishful thinking and at worst outright caping for a corporation.
Can we not do that to peers? Because I think at best you will get a scolding and a worst a thread ban for behaving that way, and I would genuinely prefer you be in this conversation rather than not in this conversation.

Fair enough. I apologise for taking offence at your unwarranted accusation of "a silly first blush reaction" And meeting it with two alternatives, one of which was worse.

So I'm not allowed to be pretty sure I am right?
there was no ‘pretty sure’ in what I quoted…

If I am right then they are wrong. If they are wrong then what's a better reason to be wrong than wishful thinking?
not sure how you want to determine that they are wrong rather than them having different preferences.

The options you gave

1) they are wrong and delusional (wishful thinking)
2) they are wrong and corporate shills (that lie)

yes, so are you just pretty sure that you are thinking this? ;)
No. I am absolutely 100% sure beyond all possibility of error that this redesign has taken parts of the warlock including synergies I have praised for years and destroyed them, replacing them with something I praised it for not doing. For me it has destroyed the class with zero possibility of error because if this remains as is all I will see is a ruin where there was once a good class and when someone talks about it being a first blush response they are simply objectively wrong.

The possibility of error comes in in that I believe that what's left is also complete crap for everyone else because the power level is low and the synergies aren't there. But other people might get something out of it that's actually good. I'm pretty sure they won't ultimately get much and thinking they will is at best wishful thinking - but tastes differ so I might be wrong here.

then why that detour with the ‘pretty sure’ bit. You are then equally sure here…

apparently not however
