[4e] The Dustbowl (IC)

Even Mia's casual glance can tell it appears that these strange markings are some kind of language, though the elf cannot make out the specifics of the language.

Dead noble, dead language, deceased interrest. "Friend Rashka, this one is yours!"

Roithe stands up slowly and looks around. Not noticing anything that others have not seen before, he shrugs and moves over to the table and inspects it. On the table he sees a lot of different pages, and a few that look like maps. Seeing large red circles that appear to be drawn in blood, the maps appear to detail a battle plan. On one of the maps, the city of Jurnae can clearly be seen as a primary target point for the attack. There is some mention of other colonies near this one. The language appears to be in the orcish tongue.

Glancing through some of the other pages, Roithe notices that whoever wrote these documents also had some knowledge of the Arcana. The person (or thing) looked as though the writer knew that there were some deep magics that harbored another dark secret and perhaps great treasure, but the writer could not quite discern how to access this secret. It appears that this Catacomb is a key.

The new update is here! Please post your actions like normally. I will post Legildur's actions after everyone has moved. CaBana, I hope you don't mind that I moved Rashka to the front of the door. If you'd rather stay there, please let me know and I will fix it.

Please note that the coordinates have shifted slightly, and that I have added the cells coordinates like normal (the same as in map rounds).

"Scrolly ritual thing?" prompts Mialucus with a tilted head, refering to Rashka's Comprehend Languages spell.

Assuming a yayh or nayh and not caring much either way, the impatient elf pulls out a flickering, ever-flaming piece of fabric from his belt pouch and quickly starts making the rounds of the room in its light, eventually getting to the darkened corner...

[Sblock=Actions]Grab his Ever-Burning bandana and see if anything/any clues hide anywhere in the room, perticularly in that darkened corner (B3 and 4). Thanks![/sblock]

Rashka steps into the room to begin the requested ritual.

[sblock=OOC]

he'll use the comprehend language ritual, and read the writing.

Mini Status Update

Rashka enters the room with a sigh but is careful not to let it show to anyone. Without hesitation, he begins to chant. At first, nothing really happens except for the echo of the low tone of Rashka's invocation. Then, something interesting occurs.

The runes light up in a bright blue glow as if seemingly activated by the chanting spell. The words float within the stone and begin to become decipherable. The blue glow lights up cracks in the walls as it moves toward the doorway. It reaches the outer part of the doorway as the full text comes into view.

It appears to be distinct battle plans. The orcs mention attacking Jurnae within a month's time with their limited forces, using the help of the "dark demon" that appears to be bound by some magics deeper inside of the catacombs.

Meanwhile, Mialucus finds nothing out of the ordinary, besides some old and rusty daggers and a few swords that don't seem to be worth much.

Oh, ho ho! Now this I've got to see, dark demon, she better be hot... Then a few moments pass, and upon reflecting, It's not gonna be a hot succubus demon, it's gonna be a nasty snot puddling demon, just like it always is... The dejection is plain in Rashka's voice, he seems to have saddened himself... Yes, yes, pillage and plunder, never any booty... the kalashtar cleric mumbles the last words.
