A good critical-themed feat?

Could someone tell me which book Devastating Critical comes from, as I can't seem to find it anywhere (it's probably right under my nose).

Also if anyone has any feat suggestions for a crit-focused fighter character I'd appreciate the advice.

Cheers

Ah thanks, there it is. Hmm seems I got Devastating and Overwhelming critical confuddled (I was looking for the feat which applied some bonus damage on a crit). In any case they're both epic, which explains why I couldn't find it - I didn't think it was an epic feat.

BTW Hong I agree 100%. I wish they'd brought all the 'save or die' effects over to the disintegrate way in 3.5.

So I need something else in its place. (I have Iron Will as a backup choice, but I'd rather go with something a bit more interesting).

The character is a falchion wielding Fighter/Weapon Master (3.0)

Suggestions?

Monkey grip... and use a bigger weapon?

This character is already 11th level and fully comitted to the falchion. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I'm thinking about making a kobold fighter/barbarian who wields a greatsword using monkey grip some time. The idea of a kobold dragging around a sword twice his size seems oddly appealing. :)

There really aren't many critical feats, and now that improved crit doesn't stack with keen, it's almost not worth it (just get a keen weapon or a scabbard of keen edges or a keen edge spell cast for you, gp is easier to come by than feats). I'd suggest as you already have the expertise feat for weapon master picking up improved trip as with a two-handed weapon you've likely got decent strength.

Also, if you've got quintessential fighter, maybe Two-Handed Power strike. If not, getting to great cleave can occasionally be very useful.

Two-handed power strike is already pencilled in at a different level :).

It's become a bit of a no-brainer in our sessions which makes me wonder if it's too powerful. +1 damage/4 str doesn't SEEM all that bad on the surface..

I don't consider the trip/disarm feats all that useful as the dm in question tends to favour big bruisers and powerful (ie larger or bigger) fiends as opponents. Attempting to trip these kinds of opponents is far too likely to end up with you prone and with about 6 seconds to live..

Monkey grip would be a good choice. Instead of weilding a human sized Falchion, you would be weilding a Falchion made for a troll. The damage would be larger. I have a mounted fighter who weilds an oversized lance. Granted I am taking a -2 penalty to attack, but while charging I do 6d6+33 and much more if I power attack. And if I crit it is 10d6+55 and much more if a power attack. I found monkey grip to be a very very useful feat.

Well, there's the neutered Power Critical in Complete Warrior. It now gives you a +4 to confirm a crit threat. If all 11 levels are fighter, you might consider Greater Weapon Specialization. +4 to dmg in general sounds good (twice that on a crit). If you don't have it already, power attack wound be a good choice.

There's two feats critical related in the BoED. The first is resounding blow (on a crit, save or foe is stunned or dazed or something for a round; save = 10 + half level + Cha...I think). Another is an exalted feat called Quell the Profane. It does 1d4+1 temporary strength damage to evil foes.

There are feats around that allow you to score critical hits against undeads, constructs and similar "I cannot be criticaled" cheaters... what about one of them?
